Hi all, been meaning to ask some questions here for some time.

DD and I aren't in same league as you guys but came accross a pin in November that have never seen before. I finally found it on pinpics. Has anyone seen it before or have any information on it other than what is in pinpics? It is:

Pin 28975: WDW - CM - Castle with Fireworks

The only thing different from this pin and ours is background on mine is yellow instead of white. Can't tell if different colors were made or if it's discolored with age. Does this type of manufacture discolor?

Thanks, Sharon

Hi, Sharon!

#28975 is a remake of an old WDW pin. A group of these older pins were redone last year specifically for Cast Member lanyard trading.

You may actually have #3176:

Since your pin has a different background it is possible that you have one of the originals. The new remade pin is epoxy coated (smooth to the touch), and the original was cloisonne.

But the easiest way to tell is check the back of your pin. The original pin would have only some kind of Disney copyright. The remade pins have a "pintrading" logo and are dated 2002 or 2003.

And, by the way . . . All levels of pintraders and collectors are welcome here. We all started out knowing nothing, except what we liked! :p

Thanks so much for the information!

The back only has the copywrite mark (c in circle) and block letters DISNEY. The back just looks old and where the post comes out the back, there is a second shorter post but still longer than I've seen before.

I think it's old but it does seem to be epoxy coated rather than cloisane.

Oh well, it's different and that's the fun part.

I'll go look up that 3176

Sharon
