Ophelia Butts (poor thing this was really her name- my mom's teacher in the '50's)

Fallopian (as in fallopian tube)

There's a player for the Carolina Panthers named Tutan Reyes, his real name is Tutankhamen (however you spell it), he was named after King Tut.

i consider mine unique because i've never personally met anyone with the same spelling. Mine is spelled Ashleigh as opposed to Ashley. i didnt use to like it cause it was different but now i love it.

I SWEAR this is a true story: My aunt, a teacher, had a student named Female- pronounced "Fuh-mal-ee". One day, while talking to the mother, she commented on what an unusual name that was. The mother responded "Hey- I didn't name her that. They gave her that name in the hospital when she was born! I had nothing to do with it!"

That story has been around for years. I first heard it when I was about 8. I'm in my 40's. It's mentioned in snopes under funny names. It's considered an urban legend. I've always heard it as my aunt, or my cousin or my friend knows someone. It's never, I know someone.

When i was preg. my BIL offered me money to name my son Phillip Anthony, which isn't strange until you add it to our last name. Phill- A- Mignone.

My middle name is Deniene. I named one of my son's Roman. My MIL's maiden name is Romgnoli. I didn't think it was common at the time. Now about 10 famous actors have named their children Roman.

bdcp, I truly heard that story from my aunt about 3 years ago. She maybe heard it from someone else, but I honestly heard it from her.
