Unusual names?

I used to work in the Vital Statistics office in my state (Kentucky). I saw a lot of unusual names. One I remember in particular was "Pumpkin Seed Blossom." That was the first, middle and last. I guess from a hippie mom.

There was also a family that named all their kids after states. They had about 10 kids - Tennessee, Wyoming, Georgia, Alabama and Arizona are the ones I remember.

I was friends with a girl in school who's name was Keyona. As I've never met another Keyona, I'd say her name was unusual...but very beautiful!

I met a young girl at the beach today named Sole (pronounced So-lay). I also know someone who named her daughter Precious.

My friend's name is September.

Some students have been:

Keyna (not Kenya!)
Bane
Dargan
Hawkins
Nicola

BTW: I'm teaching about Ruth, Naomi, and Boaz tomorrow in Religion class! :teacher:

These are some I've seen while working at a hospital:
Diamond (not too unusual I guess)
Um'Unique
She'Amiracle (coworkers joked that the brothers name was He'a'Accident - hahaha)

My friend, who is a middle school teacher had a set of twins girls as students. They were named:

Lemonjello & Orangejello (yep, lemon jello & orange jello)

She had brothers that were named Sir & Mister because "their mama wanted them to be shown respect!!" - or so she was told.

Actually my old baby sitter's daughters names were Madamiellse and Cinderella.

I saw this on a legal document many decades ago:
Fairy Finks (first and last name)

also someone who was doing the census in rural Arkansas over 40 years ago got a name that was pronounced "Paj -o - mah"
It turned out the name was pajama, and they got it out of a catalogue.

My Cousin's ex-wife is named Breezy. (not sure if another e in there) I thought it was her nickname until I got the wedding invite.

One of my BF's name is Chanda Lee (say that fast and what do you get?) :rotfl:

For some reason, I thought Precious was an unusual name, I knew someone with that name, and then one day I met three different women with that same name in a week (no joke, I actually did!).

In a hospital I worked at in California there was a maternity patient there whose name was 'Lusty'. It wasn't her first time there!

:teeth:

My SIL & BIL's last name is Wind. They are pregnant with a girl. My BIL keeps teasing & saying he wants to name her Augusta Summer. So her name would be: Augusta Summer Wind :rotfl: (A gust'a summer wind!)

I saw a cashier in the grocery store the other day whose nametag said "Mahogany".

I said, "Your Mom must be a Diana Ross fan!" She laughed and said, "That's right." Another cashier seemed to think I was giving Mahogany a hard time so I had to explain to her that was Diana Ross' characters name in the movie of the same name.

I forgot two. I went to HS with both of of them/

Armand Hammer
and
Candace Cane (Candy Cane)

My middle name is Aisling (pronounced Ash-leen). Apparently its Irish. Mom found it in a book a few weeks before I was born and decided it was for me! I have only heard of one other person having that name and it was her first name, she was actually from Ireland. I used to not like it, but now I think its pretty ;).
