Oh, and I couldn't watch Bambi for years, I hated it, too. Because his mommy died, and it was tooo sad to imagine.

I've watched it again (several times) with the kids since we've been going to DL, and now I appreciate the sweetness and the beautiful music and how it ties in so perfectly with the scenes. And my boys don't seem to be affected at all by Bambi's mother dying. I guess that's a good thing... heartless little *******

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: Omg... Alex, you made me snort. :lmao:

DS7 wrote his first book, he says. Oh, his first book on basketball. He took a little notepad I had and it looks like he wrote down what a sports announcer was saying about a UCLA game, it's hilarious! "The score is UCLA78-Tigers 68. UCLA is playing better than I have ever seen, don't you agree they're playing better than they have ever?" :rotfl2:

Then he tore the pages out, wrote his full name on the front and a long, involved "The End" sort of thing at the end, and asked Daddy to staple it all together. His handwriting is terrible because he doesnt' stay on the lines and he sizes letters differently, and he also runs a sentence down the page if it doesn't all fit on a line. But it is pretty cute. DH says, "Can we keep that?"

;) Whats happening? Anything new? Wanna cheesecake brownie?
OMG, yes!!!

You know as I was driving around Southcenter on Friday, trying to figure out where RFC was and how to GET there (:lmao: ) I noticed a CHEESECAKE FACTORY right in the parking lot!

I almost got distracted from our lunch date, but fortunately I drove right past.

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: You know, did the same THING!! I drove by, and thought.. I wonder if Alex will notice this? :scratchin :lmao: At least you know where it is now... You know, for when we leave all the kids at home for lunch. :rotfl2:

Hiiiiiiiiiiiiii

hey Alex, from what I read on the DL thread.. people have ordered from Von's and they will just leave it at the front desk.. the poster timed it so the delivery came just before they arrived at the hotel. (Disney hotel... fairly routine for the bell staff to accept the delivery)

Do some hunting on the DL thread and check into it.. Von's is easy to order from-- Albertson's web site is a snore to wait for it to load and generally clunky order system.

Hello all! Just checking in before I start my nightly routine to get ready for the week! Hope everyone had a great weekend. Mine was decent, good weather, made it to the park, got my chores done, and Lauren had a friend over for the night!!!

I am getting so excited for the trip, we leave Vegas in 16 days!!!

Andrea

Hey Alex and Staley, you two had a lunch date last week?? How exciting, it sounds like fun. Wish we were all closer!!

Hi Andrea!!

Andrea

Yeah, we met at the Rain Forest Cafe. It was a blast, and the kids had tons of fun... Even though we were sitting next to the Gorillas!:lmao:

awwwwwwwww sweet :cutie:

Kids love to write "books", at preschool we would staple together half sheets of paper in a book format.. they went nuts for it and would do their pre writing and illustrations and then we would take dictation and write out the story for them. :goodvibes

It's an awesome experience for them -- they are so proud.

I think the boys were in 3rd grade when they had an author visit the classrooms for a lengthy unit. Teaching them how to write and illustrate a book. There are hardcover blank books that you can buy, blank covers. They did the text on computer printed and pasted on the pages and did the drawings. Fun stuff!

How fun!! We've only been to the one here twice, mostly because I only "do" the strip when people are in town!! Had a surprise visit from my friend up in Bellingham last week, she was loving the weather down here!!! She got $19 flights from WA to here on Allegiant, can you believe that??? :woohoo:

Nice to see ya around!!

It just dawned on me today that the trip is coming very soon now :yay:

I was eyeing a new suit at Target but the boys were bored and my nephew was along.. no way would they wait for me to try on a new suit

Hey Staley, are you still coming by yourself? Last I had talked to you, you were maybe teensy tiny contemplating bringing one of the rugrats?

I am so glad that the pool renovations are taking longer so the kids will most likely be able to swim on this trip!!! WOOHOO!!!

Not that all of you childless travelers care about those trivial things!! (Can you tell I am jealous! I will probably never go ANYWHERE without my kids EVER!)

I'll talk to DH, but he was iffy about it last time, so doubt he'll go for it this time, either. It's not a big deal to just run over there, especially since we will have a car. I'd definitely consider it if we didn't. :)

We did! It was so much fun! I wanted to go to RFC to get a Safari membership for our DL trip, and I found out the only one near us is halfway to Staleys, so I asked if they'd like to meet us there. And they did! Four kids (because it was spring break for the older two) who behaved pretty well. Mikalah was a little skittish at first, and Ds3 freaked out when we were seated next to roaring gorillas! :scared1: :rotfl2:

We gotta do that more often!

Ohh, I went shopping with my Aunt last week and they were 40% so she bought me two new ones for this summer!! You need atleast two per season here, they get WORN out from how much we swim and the chlorine just eats them. I even rinse them in cold water when we get out but the BUTT part gets all snagged up from all the scratchy cool deck!

Andrea

ooooooooooo the main pool is still open YES!! I was reluctant to get a new suit, I don't like the quiet pool area at all and would love love love to hang in the hot tub at night.. ahhhhhhhhhh.

Wow, $19??? I've never heard of that kind of pricing! Of course I've never heard of Allegiant, either! Is that the kind of airline where they strap a parachute to your back and buckle you onto a wing? :rotfl:

No kidding, I got talked into a glider flight in my youth, and they strapped a parachute on and kept saying, "Now of course you're not going to need it, but just in case, do this, NOT THIS! Because if you do this it won't open, so make sure you do THIS FIRST, then that. But of course you won't need it..." :scared1:
