We did! It was so much fun! I wanted to go to RFC to get a Safari membership for our DL trip, and I found out the only one near us is halfway to Staleys, so I asked if they'd like to meet us there. And they did! Four kids (because it was spring break for the older two) who behaved pretty well. Mikalah was a little skittish at first, and Ds3 freaked out when we were seated next to roaring gorillas!

We gotta do that more often!

Oh, that does sound like fun!! I am surprised you guys don't meet up more often, are we talking 45 minutes between the two of you right? Maybe I am not remembering right, please correct me if not!!!

The Gorillas are really cool, the kids love them!! I gotta take Nathan there soon, he hasn't been since a few months old and I am sure he would get a kick out of it! He LOVES "aminals"!

Ohh, I went shopping with my Aunt last week and they were 40% so she bought me two new ones for this summer!! You need atleast two per season here, they get WORN out from how much we swim and the chlorine just eats them. I even rinse them in cold water when we get out but the BUTT part gets all snagged up from all the scratchy cool deck!

yeah, we had an indoor pool when we lived in St Cloud-- swimming everyday chewed up the suit in just a few months time. Gave up on buying a nicer suit and resorted to the cheapo ones.. you now the ones that don't suck it all in for ya

ooooooooooo the main pool is still open YES!! I was reluctant to get a new suit, I don't like the quiet pool area at all and would love love love to hang in the hot tub at night.. ahhhhhhhhhh.

Yep, the latest is that it won't be closing till the 4th week of April, so we should make it by the skin of our teeth!!!

How fun!! We've only been to the one here twice, mostly because I only "do" the strip when people are in town!! Had a surprise visit from my friend up in Bellingham last week, she was loving the weather down here!!! She got $19 flights from WA to here on Allegiant, can you believe that???

Wow, $19??? I've never heard of that kind of pricing! Of course I've never heard of Allegiant, either! Is that the kind of airline where they strap a parachute to your back and buckle you onto a wing?

No kidding, I got talked into a glider flight in my youth, and they strapped a parachute on and kept saying, "Now of course you're not going to need it, but just in case, do this, NOT THIS! Because if you do this it won't open, so make sure you do THIS FIRST, then that. But of course you won't need it..."

Oh, fun!!! No it's a regular airline, flies all over. I am surprised you haven't heard of it actually. It's a little more obscure, kinda like JetBlue, but still big!!! They were having a fabulous sale, you had to be pretty flexible on dates and times though. But for $40 round trip, you cannot be picky!

Hey Staley, are you still coming by yourself? Last I had talked to you, you were maybe teensy tiny contemplating bringing one of the rugrats?

I am so glad that the pool renovations are taking longer so the kids will most likely be able to swim on this trip!!! WOOHOO!!!

Not that all of you childless travelers care about those trivial things!! (Can you tell I am jealous! I will probably never go ANYWHERE without my kids EVER!)

I think it is about an hour and a half between us. Maybe less? I dont really know. but we should do it more often! I know we will this summer. Its great that the kids are so close in age.

It's over an hour apart, actually, maybe an hour and 15 minutes or so (depending on how far off the freeway they are, I'm not sure exactly where they live.)

So we've met in the middle a couple times, and once went to the zoo in Seattle together. It is a lot of fun, and the kids are always disappointed when it's time to say goodbye, which I just love. DS7 wants the Staleys to come over to our house this summer, so we'll see if we can talk them into that.

Bellingham is a couple hours north of me, so over 3 hours away for Staley. But for that price...

OMG!! I could fly to Fresno to visit Lynn on the 4th or 5th of July for ony $4!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That is crazy, it is $39 for the return flight, so $43 total for round trip to Lynn!!! I am so there!

oh... its a trek to the freeway. Actually, we are right on the freeway, I can see it from my window. it takes us all of 2 or 3 minutes to be headed north.

Absolutely! I know the kids would LOVE that! I dont mind the drive at all, heck... We head out that way for kicks all the time. We used to drive up to Marysville every other week when my parents lived there, and that is farther north then you guys, by a bit I think!

Hey from what I've learned living here.. an hour away is NOTHING, that's most people's daily ONE WAY commute!
I love how pretty it is here and being able to go the beach and DL in an hour or less... but OY! Too much driving around and too dang much traffic compared to what we were accostumed to having. 20 minutes tops to get anywhere in the Twin Cities
