I'm just sitting here waiting for the UPS guy to show up. If he's not here by 4:40 then I'll need to leave and go drop it off at the box across the street.

WooHoo! UPS guy showed up on time I can now talk to myself for another 20 minutes. Where did everyone go?:confused3

Guess what I did today? I booked a trip to Florida for DD & her BFF for her spring break/16th birthday!

I used my bosses airmiles (thank you very much!), so it only cost $10. Got the straight thru flight. My sister will pick them up early that Sunday morning at the airport in Orlando. She has to work all week, but they can hang at her house (pool, beach, shopping, movies, sleeping in, whatever). Then on Friday they will head over the the All Star Movies Resort. Sat & Sun they are probably going to Typhoon Lagoon & Blizzard Beach waterparks. Then she will drop them off at the airport Monday morning at the same time that she is picking her son up from the airport. They will be headed back to Portland on the same plane that her son comes in on! How's that for perfect timing?

I really, really, really wish I could go. But I'm sure I will be laying in bed, doped up on pain pills all that week. And who wants to feel like that & listen to someone complain about not getting to do anything fun for spring break or their 16th birthday!
how cool!!!

Im here.... just sitting here bawling my eyes out. :sad2: The joys of overactive hormones.

So do you think I spoil my kids too much? Is there such a thing as spoiling them too much?? I just want them to have a fun, awesome childhood. I want them to say OMG you would never believe how much fun I had growing up and the things that I got to do. Besides, I'm smart, I know they will be the ones picking my nursing home!:scared:

My mother would never have let me go to my Aunt's house in Florida with my BFF (yeah, like anyone knew what a BFF was back then, it was before Al Gore invented the internet!):lmao: when I was only 16. But then again I'm not my mother am I! And I tend to get much better ideas than she ever had. One of these days I'm probably going to have to grow up aren't I?

:confused3 I dunno. I think I grew up doing some pretty cool stuff, and we strive to do the same for our kids. Its important to us.

Awwww....don't do that!   You're only supposed to think happy thoughts! Just think how much fun you are going to have with a tiny little baby in the house. Remember how good they smell right after a bath and how wonderful it is to sit and rock them to sleep.

Dont make me start again... really, this is what I have looked like for the past hour! Good thing my kids are engrossed in a movie!:lmao:

Well I did just book them coach tickets instead of first class.:lmao: I actually thought that would be an awesome surprise for them, but 1st class costs double the air miles, so they'll just have to put up with the stinky, smelly, snoring people in coach on the Red Eye Flight.:lmao:

So would I be spoiling her too much if I had a brand new car sitting in the driveway for her when she got home?:confused3 Can't really afford a brand new car right now, but it sure would be fun to see the look on her face!

Oh sorry, how's this? Remember all those sleepless nights, getting up at 11pm, 1am, 3 am, 5 am..... Let's not forget those wonderfully smelly diapers of which you have at least 2 more years to change. Oh and the baby urp that gets dried up and makes your hair straggly & goopy looking.

My parents worked out a deal with me when I was younger... I saved 50% of all the money I got. Babysitting, gifts, working... whatever. Then when the time came, my dad would match me when it came time to buy my first car. So.... When I had $3500. saved up, I was ready to shop. But what happened was my dad gave me his car.... a 1yo ford escort. which I might add was VERY nice car for a HS student, and QUITE a deal for $3500. or even $7000. It was 2 door, and all sporty. Man that was a great car! They waited on buying me a brand new car til I graduated high school.

I just typed "Search Engine" into the Google search bar. Guess what? Google doesn't even show up until the 2nd page! Altavista is the first one that pops up. That's too funny! You would think the Google search engine would make Google the first one! I think I need to be running that company!

We already gave her the old brown truck, so she will have that to drive. She's talked about getting a job, but just has too much going on right now. I do pay her to babysit her brother in the summer and after school. She races on Saturday's & Sundays and then will be starting college classes in the fall. So I would really rather have her wait on a job since she has such a full plate right now. My first car was a Pinto!:lmao:

I need to head home. Have a busy weekend planned. Bruce's cousin & her family (just back from her brother's funeral) might be stopping by on Saturday, since they are flying out of Portland.

We are going camping next weekend (weather permitting) for the first MX race of the season at Washougal. So I need to get a menu together and food & clothes loaded in the trailer.

Have a great afternoon & don't get too blue!

My mom would constantly tell me that her first car only cost her $100. YEAH RIGHT. My dad would not even let me drive around in a used car that I bought off the lot.

I hear you on not wanting her to get over loaded. By my senior year, I worked full time, went to high school full time, plus went to college part time. Thankfully my job was only 5 minutes away from school. Which was great, considering I had to be there 5 minutes before I got out of school!:lmao:

Ahhh, so this trip for your DD is a little self-serving? (Or perhaps I should say self-preserving?) Dang, you are one smart woman, Sam! :thumbsup2

Staley!

How's the baby-makin' business today? What's with the tears???

my pants are getting tighter and tighter everyday. Ugh... just depressing myself with stuff that I can do nothing about. So really, nothing new.
