My biggest problem is I tend to push myself more than I should. I did it with my mastectomy, did it with chemo and I have no doubt I'll do it with this surgery also. I just go crazy if I have to sit around or lay around.
I couldn't have the expanders like the lady you are talking about because I had so much radiation. They said they could try it if I wanted to but it's not recommended, the skin is too damaged from radiation to stretch and then horrible scar tissue usually develops around the implant and you end up having it removed in a year or two.
The ladies that have the expander and then implants go through pain for about 6 months. They have to go in every couple of weeks and have saline added, until they are actually bigger than they want to be. Then they remove the expanders and replace with implants.
With my type of reconstruction you get the pain afterwards. Personally I would rather have implants, but I'm also smart enough to listen to the doctor and not try to do something they don't recommend.
So I guess I'll just have to live with my little B cup!
