I plan to stay Thursday to Sunday. Taking the metro on Thursday, hubby picking me up on Sunday.

oh my god i would never do labor day that marathon is going to make it worse for crowds as if it could get any worse

I know, I was pointing out the park is not open to ANYONE in the morning-- making for this HUGE crowd all trying to get in at once at the end of the marathon. Uber busy in the morning, a bit less in afternoon (possibly because the runners are pooped out by then and go home) .

Big crowd waiting around in the morning, they delay opening with all the runners going thru.
It was busy in the morning (lots of runner go to DL after the marathon), with the heat the crowds died off and the park was nearly empty by noon.


Isn't the family fun run in DCA the day before? That would make it crowded as well.

We have to be done running by 9:30 and I think they open at 10am. Maybe I can go back to the hotle, shower and relax and then go to DL in the later afternoon.

That reminds me, does anybody know anything about the brown/black t-shirts for the Ladies Only meet? I know there were two different groups doing shirts, and to be honest, the pale blue one would make me look like death. I was so excited to see the brown/black option, and I love that pink crown! I want that shirt!!!

But I haven't heard anything about it since I saw it, the gal said she was going to be taking orders later...

I think the lady said she will be taking orders on Wednesday. I ordered the blue shirt even though I won't be in till late on Friday. I'm just gonna wear it on Sunday. The black/brown shirt is planned for Saturday.

Packing my Depends now...

I'm actually not sure how much time I'll be able to spend with the ladies. For sure whatever is going on Sat. morning, though.

I don't want to stress DH out dealing with both boys by himself. I know actually that we won't be able to go to the park at all on Saturday because of the blackout. And he and DS3 will likely nap in the early afternoon, so maybe DS7 and I can hang with the girls then. So we'll see.

I almost skipped the blue shirt myself, but they plan to wear them for the tour and I decided I should have it just to join the fun..it's bit more tongue in cheek than I typically like to wear.

I like the brown one too, very nice colors and looks classy.

I think I'll skip the lanyard-- I don't get along well with things on my neck, scratches me up and leaves really icky red lines.

What's on the schedule for that day anyway? Is that the HOB day?? I haven't written anything down yet.

I would like to see the following on the front page of the girls only thread :

~times for the PS for each restaurant with the contact info and possibly a link to the menus

~Prices and contact info for each shirt, lanyard all in one place -- vs "check pg 53 of the thread" and how they plan to distribute the shirts.

~Times, cost , contact, where to meet info for the tour

I don't have patience to read 30 some pages to find a tiny scrap of info. We're running down to a month now, I know they have the PS done.. but where do u find the info unless you read the thread every day.

I dunno, maybe I'm just anal about having things planned out??

That's what I'm saying. I don't know what the plan is for the hyenas, other than getting together in the morning.

I agree. I was gonna get the lanyard just because, and then I realized I wouldn't wear it because I didn't like having one around my neck.

No, I agree, it is hard to keep track of everything. I obviously HAVEN'T kept track of everything, but when I figured out the PSes and tours and stuff, there wasn't anything I felt I could participate in. We won't be there until afternoon Fri., and then I think they're doing everything in the park on Sat.? The next day is DS3's birthday, so I want to spend the day with him.

Then Monday there wasn't anything planned. It's not a big deal, I was just hoping to do SOMETHING, one thing...
