are we doing a meal at DLH? or what?
:confused3

Tinkermell told me they were planning to get together that morning at the DLH, somewhere outside. I said I could do that, because we're staying at the DLH, and we wouldn't be able to go to the park that day. Then she mentioned days later about spending the whole day together. I'm not sure (with the kids) that i'd be able to do that, but I'll certainly stay as long as DH's patience lasts. :rotfl:

It's a family trip for us, plus it's his vacation, too, so I don't want to ditch him, nor stick him with the kids all day unless they've got something fun to do and he's willing. Besides, I kinda like spending time with him. ;)

Whoa!

I'm watching PBS, and there's a program (called something like "My Generation: The '60s") where groups from back then are reprising their hits. There was just a grandma type singing wearing a red tank, black sweater/jacket, and black leather pants! It looked... odd.

shudder, ewwwww.

well, I thought I had a hotel picked out for Vegas.. only to find a site with some really good deals..browsing thru and got excited over a hotel that is right on the center strip, just a few dollars a night more than the off strip hotel I had chosen . Only to have my excitement fizzle... when I realized that great rate is only for two people, it jacks up the price another $40 per night for 4 in a room  Now that is a true bait and switch tactic, I didn't see it until I started to reserve. Grrrr, back to square one.

What are you guys thinking of doing there? I'd like to go sometime, just because I've never been. But DH and I don't really drink or gamble. He has family there that we could visit. Not sure what else we could do there, especially if the kids came along. :rotfl:

FIL was telling us about someplace that has a really cool pool. Maybe we'd just hotel-hop, hitting up the different pools.

Over the summer Today show has music groups perform.. some recent, some really old.. Well they had Blondie perform, oh dear. She did not age well, wrinkel city and bad out of tune voice. Yet she wore the same outfit she would have done at the height of her career, not good!! Creepy grandma fluffy lady in leather and tank top, not exactly a sexy thing-- even for the old foggies in the nursing home

Hot Chocolate lyrics:

I believe in miracles
Where you from
You sexy thing
You sexy thing

Since it's winter.. the hotel pools are closed. Or at least that's what I found for a few of the places.

Lots of free stuff to do and see, the Bellagio fountain, the pirate show thingie, the volcano, Venice canal , tiger habitat, penguins, aquarium, shops to oggle and ahhh over. Visual feast of sights.

I completely understand  maybe because of the fact that well now all of us are coming without the kids she is forgetting your whole family will be there...and andrea will stay as long as she can but because she is driving down with her mom, auntie and uncle she has to leave when they are ready to leave...so we have to take that into consideration as well

Oh, I think I've seen a video clip of the Bellagio fountain, pretty! I would like to see that. :)

I'd heard many casinos have cheap food and drinks (but good, not yucky!) to lure people in. :thumbsup2

cool:thumbsup2 I found a few web sites with some info on what's good, what isn't and prices. Nothing is final yet, we may just scrap the whole thing and go some other time.

We were thinking of going further north-- but it's closer to go to Las Vegas.. I dunno, can't decide.

i remember that too...but from my experience that has been long gone...buffets have gotten way better and more expensive..part of the problem is the buffets around town jack the prices up during the weekend...so it makes it hard to get a good deal

yep, that's the impression I got from various web sites.. They have deals if you eat at 2 am -- steak and eggs for under $3, but it's 2 am , not happening on this trip.
