Untitled DL chat thread. Everyone is welcome! Part 12

Let's see, our October trip: We met up with Staley, Dizzy, pix and G at the Redwood Creek Trail's Brother Bear Totem ceremony, then let the kids run rampant through there while we chatted.

My family went to lunch after that, but then while DH and DS3 napped, DS7 and I went with pix to the Billy Hill show. That was hilarious! (OK, DS7 was less than impressed, but pix and I were laughing a LOT!) And the lead singer is freakishly believable with those fake buck teeth!

On the evening of my birthday we were walking through Tomorrowland past that giant rolling ball when I hear someone shouting out my name. It was getting dark so I had trouble seeing, but then recognized Shawna! Do you believe it?!?! In the dark! That woman can stalk, I tell you!

What a thrill to finally meet hyenas!!!

How fun!! Billy Hill is fun, although I've only seen it once. Did you ever get your birthday cake you wanted? How did that go?

Now wait, I thought Shawna wasn't going till DD's dance thing in Nov.? She ended up meeting up with you guys? How cool!

Right now it looks like either the last weekend in April, or the first weekend in May. So far Melody, Alison, Bernice, Pix, and Shawna have all shown interest. Plus a bunch of other ladies from the DL board.. Now if only I can convince someone to room with me....

I totally would except May 1st is Samantha's birthday so that's a no can do for me!! Bummer, I would have liked to try and come. Oh well, I am sure there will be another!! I get so many comments every time I am at DL and have my hyena shirt on, it's great!!

I hope so! I am really looking forward to it... I would like to do a tour, or something... and being able to ride whatever I want, without having Mikalah throw a fit, and end up barfing everywhere... But being able to let go, and not have to worry about diaper changes, and keeping everyone else fed and happy for a few days is going to be HUGE for me.

Yep, I will be feeling that same way in January and I cannot wait. It is hard for me to even imagine it, so I'll have to wait till I get there.

Shawna's DH had a difficult week at work, they were stressed, and I forget if it was he or she who suggested, "Let's go to DL, just for one day!" and the other readily agreed! So they did, for just one day!

It was a nice surprise to meet her, though I wish we'd had more time to chat, of course.

The birthday cake was... interesting. DH did order a cake, which was to be delivered after our Steakhouse 55 meal was finished. The manager came up and began whispering to DH during the meal, and DH barked, "What?! You have got to be kidding me!" The kids and I looked up, so he asked the manager if they could discuss this away from the table, so they left for a bit. When DH came back he was really ticked, and said the cake he ordered had been made, but somehow lost. They couldn't find it anywhere! So the manager offered us 4 free desserts. I think we ordered 2 of them, and then waited...and waited...and then the manager was back, saying they had whipped up a cake, not the same cake mind you, but a cake, and they hoped it would be OK.

So I did have a birthday cake, it had like peachy-orange and yellow swirls, if I'm remembering right, a sugar figurine of Minnie, chocolate quarter-sized Mickey heads, and I think it was a white cake with a strawberry filling. So I guess in a way I got my wish, it was a surprise!

Oh gag... that sounds a little gross. But at least you got something!! I was kinda bummed that we wouldnt be at DL for my B-Day... but I think it would just be to spendy for us to stay til then.

Okay, I have to agree with Staley, that does not sound like a cake I would really care for, but after all that, you did get your surprise now didn't you??? Poor DH, it figures something would go wrong after he went to all the trouble to actually order it!!!

Did you like the meal though? I absolutely LOVE the restaurant to death!! Hope you had a good meal there!!

That's cool, I am glad Shawna got to come down. No way I could do a one dayer by myself, I am too tired at the end of the day if I drive that morning!! Would need someone to share the driving with!
