Ok I just got to use a wonderful old "mom" saying about needing sleep to do well in school. Perfect!

Morgan cannot go to sleep. She fights it every night and gets out of her bed at least 50 times. We have tried EVERYTHING. She just cries and says she does not know how to go to sleep. Trust me we have tried it all.

Anyway, she failed her spelling test from Friday. I hadnt checked her backpack all weekend and I just found it. She knows the words because we practice them at home but she said she was too tired. Perfect insertion of my getting to bed lecture!

She has never failed anything and only missed 1 word max so far. I know Thursday night she did not fall asleep til midnight. Man was I mad at her.


Staley we have tried duct tape! (ok not really) I am thinking a shock device like a stun gun or something if she moves out of bed it zaps her!

Have you tried cough syrup with codeine? That's what an older lady that I used to work with recommended to me! She used to give it to her kids when they were little and it knocked them right out, of course that was in the 60's. But I have always threatened my kids with it -- drugging them so they'll sleep!

Well I guess they all got the last laugh, because now that I only have 1 breast I really am F L A T! They had no idea what flat is!

Have you tried cough syrup with codeine? That's what an older lady that I used to work with recommended to me! She used to give it to her kids when they were little and it knocked them right out, of course that was in the 60's. But I have always threatened my kids with it -- drugging them so they'll sleep!

Benadryl causes drowsiness too.

Ok bad mom here but for a week I gave her benedryl to knock her out about an hour before bedtime. I felt guilty and decided it wasnt healthy. For the record she did start the week off with a cold so there was a legit reason I just continued it a few days longer than necessary.

Or a water gun, like the use on cats... OR.. You could threaten her with a peanut butter and jelly poop sandwich like the one dh just offered to make me if I come back and wake him up again!

Me too! There is nothing I enjoy more than injuring myself for you all! Eh... dont worry about medicating your kids to sleep... I have done it myself a time or 2.
