When we got a new kitty, he would disappear and we cold not figure out where he was going! One night DW opens a can in the kitchen, and I am setting on the couch, and hear a rumbling! Out comes kitty! He had pushed his way through the gauze covering the bottom of the couch, and made himself a little "kitty cave" gues to get away from the other cats!

That's what we were thinking they had done. But we turned over literally every piece of furniture in the house and got underneath the beds with flashlights to look. We checked under the dressers, in every closet (in the unlikely event they squeezed under a tiny slit in the door), under the fridge and stove, opened all cabinets, behind the washer/dryer. You name it we looked and our house is only 1 story and not that big! Plus, we had shut all the bedroom doors before we let them out. But we still checked the bedrooms. I even checked the load of laundry I had put in the washer & dryer and in the dishwasher! Although I'm not sure I would have wanted to see that.

My sister killed her first husband's childhood cat. It was right after they had a big old fight, he had left and she was doing laundry. The cat had jumped into the dryer while they were fighting and she turned the dryer back on later to warm up the clothes and remove the wrinkles. Needless to say the cat did not survive the Permanent Press Cycle!:scared1: Then a couple of months later his other cat crawled up under her car and she chopped it up with the fan blade when she started the car! He was a drunken idiot (the husband, not the cat!). You would have thought he would have gotten the hint and left on his own instead of waiting until she killed all of his animals!:rotfl:

Anyway, as long as the kittys are inside I'm happy. They are just too little to be outside in this cold weather, plus we have not introduced them to our other animals yet and I really don't want the dogs leaving dead kitty's on the doorstep for me. We wanted to get them calmed down and used to us for a week or two before we attempt that.

Glad you found your kitties :goodvibes

Hi Spongie! How's it going today?? So far my day has been busy. Drive DS to dentist appt. at 7:30am (30 miles), drive him back home to catch school bus (30 miles), shampoo carpet, drive to work (30 miles), open mail from Saturday, catch up on daily accounting reports from all weekend, have lunch w/one of the bosses and now I have a stack of work on my desk. Which is why I'm procrastinating and Dising instead!:thumbsup2

Alison- I'm glad you found your kitties and that they are safe and sound! :goodvibes

SpongeMommie- I'm glad you are almost finished unpacking. Wow, that's a lot of photos for photopass! I never used photopass. I just bring my digital camera along. Is it expensive?

I'm planning to go to DL after work today. I'll try to take some pics for you guys. I'm hoping it's not too packed and that everyone will be at MHT. :wizard:

Glad you found the kittens Alison. When we first moved in here we locked the cat in the bathroom when we weren't home... giving her time to adjust. She lived in the cabinet under the sink for awhile.

Let her out and she disappeared on us, came back from an erand and could hear her meowing over and over.. tracked her down.. she was BEHIND the gas stove. She wouldn't come out and the gas line isn't very long to pull the stove out too far. J had to climb over the stove and yank her out of there. :sad2: Pushed it further against the wall and put things in the way between fridge and stove.

We also find her inside cabinets. She climbs in if she sees an open cabinet or drawer. Freaks me out when I open a drawer and out pops furry kitty paws scratching at me.
EEK!

She too was not socialized as a tiny kitty. The move mellowed her out since she was stuck with us all day long with no where to hide.

Hooray! Pixie got some sleep!!

Have a fun evening at DL, I blame you for my current addiction for dole whip floats. :lmao:

oh gag.... I am still not sleeping! Well... that marks, what day 3? Unreal.:sad2: This is about getting old. dh went out and got me some OTC sleeping pills... I guess I will see if they work, huh? I dont think I fell asleep until about 4 this morning... That doesnt work really well when you have to get up at 6:30.

Anyhow... Im glad to see everyone is back from dl! Sounds like everyone had a nice time!:thumbsup2 Glad you found your kitties Alison!:cool1:

Oh & I will not hurt these animals tails...I will not hurt these animals tails...I will not hurt these animals tails....I will not hurt these animals tails.

Seems I have a knack for hurting animals tails. I slammed Spook's tail in the cabinet door when she was a kitten and she now has a bent crook on the end of her tail. I ran over our dog Bader's tail twice last year. (He's getting old and can't hear or see me pulling into the garage and I'm so short I can't see over the hood). Now I pull myself up in the seat to see the ground way before I enter the driveway!:thumbsup2

Hi Staley! Sorry you're not sleeping well. Have you tried doing something relaxing right before bed? Take a nice warm bath, a cup of herbal tea, turn the tv & computer off, read a book, listen to relaxing music. I don't know why but I seem to have more problems falling asleep if I watch tv or Dis at night. I think it must overstimulate my brain or something!:rotfl:

Actually it's funny that I'm giving sleep advice because I've had insomnia every since I was diagnosed last year. It's very common in breast cancer patients. I have trouble falling asleep because of hot flashes. Then once I fall asleep I roll over on my left side and it hurts and wakes me up. Most nights I feel like I spend more time awake than asleep. Of course last night I was up cleaning up cat poo from the carpet! The new kitty's are litter box trained, but our old cat is having issues! I can't get mad at her because she's like 112 in dog years!:lmao:

Well girl, gotta head home now. TTYL! Actually I should have plenty of time to Dis after Thursday night. DH is heading out elk hunting then. :woohoo:

I have tried to relax with a book... I am a pro at falling asleep during movies, but that doesnt seem to work.. And when I am felling like it might take me a while to fall asleep, I cant go lay n my bed, because my tossing and turning wakes the baby. :sad2: Its lose, lose I tell you. On Friday night, I was still up when my kids got up. Plus dh didnt get home til noon that day.. Yeah, that was fun!:rotfl2:

What's up hyenas! I'm waiting to board the tram and it's crazy packed for MHT!

Megan I have a couple other suggestions for you...do not drink soda at all after 7pm nor any chocolate ANYTHING....even if its just a couple of chips in a cookie...dont eat it...take nothing that has any caffeine in it...if you dont have any...have DH or you go and get some sleepy time tea and drink it before bed...try to get off the computer an hour before bedtime...take the otc sleep medicine at the time your getting off the computer...try it and see if that helps:hug:
