Yes, I'm SUPER MOM!! Able to leap over piles of dirty laundry in a single bound! I have X-ray vision (or eyes in the back of my head!).

No, actually I really suck at arts & crafts. So when I was a girl scout leader I did stuff like camping, outdoor cooking, swimming, hiking, etc... But they made us take classes to learn how to do outdoor stuff safely. All of the leaders used to meet for a weekend at the girl scout camps and they would teach us how to cook outdoors and all kinds of neat stuff. I really learned to cook some neat stuff. I also learned how to frap & lash (make tables, chairs, bridges, etc. out of rope/twine and sticks/logs). That was lots of fun!

I can make cakes in a fire pit, using orange peels as a small cake pan. I can cook just about anything using charcoal briquets. Did you know each briquet is 30 degrees, so if you want to bake something at 350 degrees just use 12 briquets. They taught us how to make an oven out of a cardboad box & tinfoil. You can bake anything in it using briquets.

So as you can probably guess when we go camping we don't eat hot dogs!

Wow, when I was in boy scouts, when we camped out, we just ordered Pizza!:woohoo: :rotfl2: :lmao:

I do not like sweet potatoes either! I do like green bean casserole with the French's Onions on top though. My family always makes that.

My ex co-worker gave her cranberry recipe and I made it 2 years in a row. My family loved it!

:wizard: CRANBERRY RECIPE:

*Ingredients:
- 1 ½ cups Sugar
- ¾ Cups Water
- 3 Cloves
- 3 Allspice Berries (powdered or allspice)
- 2 (3 inch) cinnamon sticks
- 1 (12 ounce) bag of fresh cranberries
- Grated Orange Zest (1 orange) or Pre-Powdered Orange Zest

*Cooking:
-Bring sugar, water, cloves, allspice and cinnamon sticks to a boil in a 4-quart saucepan.

-Cook, stirring until syrup is clear for about 3 minutes.

-Add cranberries and cook until they begin to POP for about 5 minutes.

-Remove from heat and add grated orange zest and cool.

-Refrigerate 1-3 days before serving.

-Remove cloves, allspice and cinnamon sticks before serving.

MMMMMM....that sounds so yummy. I love fresh cranberry sauces and compotes. But unfortunately the rest of my family seems to like the jelly stuff molded into a can! So the majority wins. I've tried fresh cranberry recipes and I'm the only one that will eat it.

I love green beans, but I hate that French's Green Bean casserole. I like my green beans sauteed in a little garlic & olive oil or steamed and slightly crispy. I guess I just have a thing about casseroles!

No not the COOKIES!!! I had a slight disagreement with our Area Girl Scout Cookie Nazi! She took cookie selling very seriously. I on the other hand hated selling cookies.

I would tell my troop we would do one weekend of selling at the grocery store, but that was all I was doing. I just didn't see a need to sell thousands of boxes. Most of the activities we did were inexpensive or free. We earned just about enough money to buy our food for cooking and to pay the $2 to go swimming and that was it. Don't get me started on the Cookie Nazi!!!

I had several parents comment to me that the Girl Scouts ate way better when camping then the Boy Scouts!

Actually one of our troops (not mine) ended up rescuing a Boy Scout troop. They were camping in a spot where the tide came in. They didn't camp up on the hill because it was too windy! The tide came in and they were soaked and lost several tents and gear to the ocean in the middle of the night! So the Girl Scouts up on the hill above had to loan them clothes, gear, tents so they could make it through the night!:lmao: All in all I think it was a very valuable life lesson for the girls!:rotfl2:
