THE WAL-MART CAKE:

Keep in mind this actually really did happen!!!! This is someone who was moving from a claims office.
Walmart Employee: "Hello 'dis Walmart, how can I help you?"
Customer: " I would like to order a cake for a going away party this week."
Walmart Employee: "What you want on the cake?"
Customer: "Best Wishes Suzanne" and underneath that "We will miss you".
Walmart Employee: "Dat all? Okay, Bye."

Pretty good! Can't complain at all! How are you doing?

OMG! I can so remember that movie....I loved Flashdance. Yep, I used to own several sets of leg warmers and slouch socks! I was just the picture of fashion!

 Oh dear!!!

Cute new avatar Pix! I like it!!!!!!:thumbsup2 So what's up with the family and no Turkey Day dinner?? That totally sucks! Last year I was in the middle of chemo so we ordered one of those Thanksgiving dinners from Safeway. It was good, but not great, and I did make a few things to go with it. I'm so looking forward to cooking dinner this year! I was so bummed that I couldn't fix a big meal last year, so I'm going all out this year!

I think it's because it's too hard to get all of us together before the cruise. My sister is in SD, my dad is currently travelling overseas, my brother is at UC Davis, etc. :( Usually we have it and we all cook together but this year we're going to spend it on the cruise :( Don't get me wrong, I want to go on the cruise, but I do enjoy our family dinners together.

That is one of the funniest things I've seen in a long time!!:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

We will be sitting at home. We might continue the tradition of going to ampm again!:lmao:

Aren't you fixing dinner? You go to AMPM on Thanksgiving? What do you get a turkey dog?

Well you can make up for it when you go to DL and eat a turkey leg! :woohoo: Ask Albort to hook you up!! J/k! ;)

I can cook a turkey outside in a trash can! A little something I learned when I was a Girl Scout leader.

You put a piece of steel rebar in the ground, put foil on the ground, put the turkey on the rebar. Then stick a small (NEW!) metal garbage can over the top, light a 10 lb. bag of charcoal briquets and spread it around the edges and top of can. A 15 pound turkey takes 2 hours!

I can also bake brownies outside in a carboard box!

Are you sure you aren't really a super hero? Good gravy you know how to do everything! :thumbsup2 :)

Just Say NO to AM/PM Food!!   I can't believe you ate there for Thanksgiving. Here's my menu:

Turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, fruit salad, rolls, stuffed celery, deviled eggs, cranberry sauce, pickles, olives, pumpkin pie, apple pie, chocolate cream pie, veggie tray & dip....

What have I forgotten??? (I hate sweet potatoes, so none of those and green bean casserole grosses me out)! So what Mama doesn't like....doesn't get served!!

That is too cool, you found a way to burn the heck out of your lawn and your hands!!:rotfl2: PARTY!!!!!

How do you do the brownies in a carboard box, and wouldn't they get out before the box burned? I thought that the Girl Scouts got there by being brownies first? Is that some sort of really demented initiation rite?popcorn::

ehhh.. I really could take or leave holidays. I havent had a real thanksgiving since I was in high school.

I do not like sweet potatoes either! I do like green bean casserole with the French's Onions on top though. My family always makes that.

My ex co-worker gave her cranberry recipe and I made it 2 years in a row. My family loved it!

Are you sure you aren't really a super hero? Good gravy you know how to do everything! :thumbsup2 :)

Yes, I'm SUPER MOM!! Able to leap over piles of dirty laundry in a single bound! I have X-ray vision (or eyes in the back of my head!).

No, actually I really suck at arts & crafts. So when I was a girl scout leader I did stuff like camping, outdoor cooking, swimming, hiking, etc... But they made us take classes to learn how to do outdoor stuff safely. All of the leaders used to meet for a weekend at the girl scout camps and they would teach us how to cook outdoors and all kinds of neat stuff. I really learned to cook some neat stuff. I also learned how to frap & lash (make tables, chairs, bridges, etc. out of rope/twine and sticks/logs). That was lots of fun!

I can make cakes in a fire pit, using orange peels as a small cake pan. I can cook just about anything using charcoal briquets. Did you know each briquet is 30 degrees, so if you want to bake something at 350 degrees just use 12 briquets. They taught us how to make an oven out of a cardboad box & tinfoil. You can bake anything in it using briquets.

So as you can probably guess when we go camping we don't eat hot dogs!

I guess that's why I didn't get to be a Brownie leader, they didn't want me burning the little girls in a box!:lmao:

So here's how to make a box oven:

1 sturdy cardboard box (banana or liquor boxes work well)
Line inside and outside with heavy duty foil.
Use duct tape to tape the foil around the outside of box.

Lay tinfoil on the ground.
Put lighted briquets on tinfoil, evenly spaced around. (Remember each briquet = 30 degrees in your oven.
Get 4 empty soup cans.
Set your cookie sheet, baking dish, etc. on top of the soup cans over the top of the briquets.
Put box over the top.
Set a rock under 1 corner to vent.
Cook just like in a normal oven.

You can make pizza, cakes, brownies, baked fish...basically anything you can cook in an oven you can cook outside in a box oven.:thumbsup2
