Oooooo, pretty! I love Celtic patterns, and pearls, so what's not to love???

(Though I'm a yellow gold girl myself; my yellowy skintone doesn't do silver/white gold unless I have a serious tan... which hardly ever happens...

I found a celtic wedding band online to give dh something to go by, he took it to every jewelry store in the mall and found nothing!! Now he is on a mission!:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

By the way, that's a euphemism in my family for "holy crap, that's expensive!" :lmao:

Oh please!!! Everything I have found, and LIKED.. is spendy. Poor dh. I have found so many things that I know he would love, and he is only getting me like one thing, because everyting I want is to spendy, and breaks our christmas budget.

hmmm.. what did I get for my 15th anniversary?? oh yeah.. we went to DL for the day.:goodvibes

Howdy ladies.. I'm recovering from our fun filled weekend of ferrying Marines around the city.. and making food, eating food, watching the Marines make food.. cleaning up after the Mainres make food..

it was fun!

But I'm glad I have my house back to myself!

Hi Bernice!! Glad you had a good weekend. I have been power shopping. However... about 50% online!:lmao: Gotta love the internet!:woohoo: :woohoo:

I've helped my mom get a few ideas for the kids, so she's happy. I bought a game this morning for DS7 (I was going to get it anyway, it's a game called Blokus and was recommended to me by the manager at our local Uncles Games store.) It sells for $30, but Drugstore.com had it for $21 today, I found it when I was just picking up a few essentials. :thumbsup2

We realized last year that DS7 plays a game (Monopoly for instance) while thinking several moves ahead, so I had asked the manager about games that would develop this ability. He said this is an easy game to learn, but the better you get at thinking ahead, the more fun and challenging it is. Adults love to play it, too, so it's fun for the whole family. (Well, probably not something for DS3 yet...)

We also want to get DS7 into chess. I never could get the hang of it myself, but DH loves it, and DS7 seems to be naturally inclined to that sort of thing, so now seems like a good age to learn it. Somewhere I saw software to play a kids' game that teaches the essentials of chess gradually, and we decided to get it. (Now I just need to remember where I saw that!)

Are you thinking what I'm thinking? He's destined to geekdom, isn't he? :rolleyes1

I got my first gift.. a gas grill!
I had my nephew's buddy (from Texas, grills all the time) take the first run with the grill.
For some reason the igniter won't work-- bummer, but my nephew likes to burn things.. gee guess that's why he's going to be an expolsives expert.... and got it lit.

nephew took over my kitchen--- always feel weird when someone else cooks...he made fettucine alfredo.

I learned all sorts of new things about my nephew.. I didn't really know him until this visit.

He graduates from his infantry training mid January. He gets every weekend off, maybe he will get bored and call us again :goodvibes

ohhhhh and we used toll roads to pick him up at Camp Pendleton.. that was pretty slick.. like no traffic and it was very pretty thru some mountains too.

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: Thats okay!! Alex is much much like dh it freaks me right out sometimes. Actually, I find it very odd... How much of what I would think would be biological... as in, things he would get from me, or his biological dad, are things that he takes after dh in. Sleeping patterns, certain habits he has... the way he talks, and walks. Its really odd! All of his interests.. He takes after dh in almost everything!

I have two things we planned to buy for gifts.. a GPS for hubby, no more wrong turns for us:woohoo: :woohoo:
and a TV for the boys' room -- bonus for me.. they can play their games in the bedroom and I don't have to hear all the bleeps and background music. :yay:

So far... Alex has a megazord, and a Mercury Power Ranger.. pajamas, Transformer movie, and he is getting a guitar. Its fisher Price, and it teaches the kid to play guitar. Its kinda spendy, but he has been wanting to learn for a while now.. Other stuff to.. Im sure. I got Mikalah the whole Mickey Mouse Clubhouse set... all the little things that go with it. She freaking LOVES that show! Plus some Hannah Montana stuff. She also LOVES her. I got her the little Hannah guitar, so she doesnt get into Alex's.:lmao: I know I got more for Alex...

Dh is getting a bunch of stuff.. no big gift for him this year, just little stuff. Halo 3, Stargate Sg1 seasons 8 and 9, a bunch of Rift things... a book, another game... Plus we bought him a Cabelas coat for work. He got it early, because he has been freezing his butt off!:lmao:

BOOHOO! I added words and it got cut off... time to resize... boooooooooooooo!

:lmao:

We do tend to buy educational games more often than not. Whenever I pick up on something that one child does particularly well or loves a lot, I try to encourage and develop that. Like when we bought DS a little basketball hoop when he was 2yo, and he was sinking every shot!

We had to bump it up so it was way over his little head in order to get so he was sinking only half the shots! And DS3 seems to be really good at tumbling type stuff, so we started the gymnastics class.

How do you resize? I want to add a ticker for the Girl's Only Trip but it gets cut off.

Not sure how to resize the pic.. I was playing with some words to add to it.. but it won't work.

Mybe I can upload the pic to my photbucket account and then pick a new size??:confused3
