SYDNEY (AFP) - Santas in Australia's largest city have been told not to use Father Christmas's traditional "ho ho ho" greeting because it may be offensive to women, it was reported Thursday.

Sydney's Santa Clauses have instead been instructed to say "ha ha ha" instead, the Daily Telegraph reported.

One disgruntled Santa told the newspaper a recruitment firm warned him not to use "ho ho ho" because it could frighten children and was too close to "ho", a US slang term for prostitute.

Gee Santa, mind your manners!

She may dress like a prostitute but that doesn't mean she is one! :sad2:

Good Morning!! Alison's Famous Leftover Turkey S/Wich Recipe:

2 Pieces of bread
Cream cheese
Cranberry sauce (whatever kind you like)
Turkey

It's yummy and beats the heck out of plain old turkey & mayo!:thumbsup2

So guess what I did today? Passed out in the doctor's office! God I feel like such an idiot. I was at the ear, nose & throat doctor. They were numbing my nostrils & throat so they could insert a probe/scope. I was just sitting in the chair leaned back for about 10 minutes waiting for the numbing meds sprayed in my nose and on the cotton packs in my nose to take full effect. Things started getting dark, I was hot and dizzy and started screaming help!:scared1: Apparently I have no problem going through grueling cancer treatment, but a simple office visit terrifies me!:rotfl2:

Geez, I can hardly wait to see what happens when I go for my colonoscopy and they try to scope the other end!:scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

I guess when you are truly sick you don't care what they do and nothing scares you anymore. But once you're healthy you turn into a wuss!

Anyway, the lump in my throat is not a tumor and the sinus tingling is not a brain tumor!:thumbsup2 Apparently the chemo has changed the lining of my stomach and is causing acid reflux that I don't even know about and it is irritating my throat. So I get to start taking Prilosec every day. The chemo also caused my body to quit producing as much mucus. (By the way the doctor told me that your body produces 1-2 quarts of mucus a day that empties into your stomach - fascinating, amazing or totally gross?). My body is not producing enough mucus, so my sinuses are getting extremely dried out. So I have to use nasal spray every hour that I am awake for the next 3 weeks to see if it helps. Might have to continue doing that for several years until my body gets back to normal. You think you're finished with chemo and it's done and over, but apparently not!

I can see how children would be terrified of Santa with a Hoe!:lmao:

But seriously, I see how it could be a problem, especially with the Salvation Army bell ringers in the bad part of town!

We never eat the whole turkey, might be better to buy a breast. Less leftovers to store in my not quite big enough fridge. The sucky part.. it will cost more to just buy the breast than a whole turkey. :sad2:

Breasts are very expensive. Mine cost nearly $300!:scared1:

What happened, did I scare everyone away with my mucus story?:confused3

That's it!! Final straw, everybody leaves me just as soon as I get on here. There's nothing left to do but actually concentrate on the work on my desk! Geesh, what's a girl to do when she doesn't feel like working? Talk to herself??

So..I've been thinking of running the Disneyland Half Marathon...
I am not a runner at all, but I have been working out and eating right since Labor Day and I've lost 12 lbs and gained muscle and strength. It cost $100 to enter. I was thinking I should sign up and pay the $100 now and that way I can't chnage my mind unless I want to lose $100. I would have 9 1/2 months to train. What do you guys think? I tried to get my mom to do it with me but she said maybe the 5K she could handle but not the Half Marathon.

I just finished cooking my dinner. Last week I bought a santa rosa marinated tri tip roast from Trader Joe's. I just cooked it in the oven and it only took 30 minutes. I just diced some white potatoes, sprinkled it with EVOO, fresh ground pepper and some garlic salt with parsley. It's still cooking in the oven. :hourglass

ok mis Rachel Ray:lmao: you know I can sit and watch her 30 minute meals show anytime but there has only been maybe 3 times where I actually prepared her food and out of the 3 times only one thing I liked...however, she does have this recipe for apple sausage stuffing and she serves it with open faced turkey sandwiches or sammies as she calls it...Im thinking about trying some of that with leftover turkey:idea:

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: That cracks me up! I am the total opposite. I dont care where we go, but if dh has a week and a half off work, we better go somewhere! I am already trying to think of what to do next year!:lmao:

since Frelan doesnt have much time off usually, doesnt he ever just want to stay home and sleep some? poor guy works his ssa off:sad2:

Morning little butterballs.

I had a "ah- ha" moment yesterday, I need to figure out what we are eating for Thanksgiving.. and if we are getting a turkey I better buy it soon  nothing like a frozen rock hard turkey to throw dinner plans out of whack.

I used Super Target printable coupons and got $50 of stuff for $20.. I'm well stocked in pickles, stove top stuffing, sourcream, butter spread, cheetos and little debbie's oatmeal creme pies. Picked up celery (freebie!), bananas (52¢ for 2 lbs), broccoli and cauliflower (decent prices, need them for dipping in my cheap hummus dip-- mmmmm).
I sent a bunch of stuff with N for a food drive (if he brought 20 items that he doesn't need to test out on running the mile this grading period), I can use the extras I just bought if J or hubby has another food drive before Christmas.

are you using stove top stuffing for thanksgiving dinner?:scared1:

What happened, did I scare everyone away with my mucus story?:confused3

nah I think it was the breast one:rotfl2:

DH has some attention issues, he cant sit still and always has to be on the go. ALWAYS. So no, he hates to just be at home.

why the heck not?? Hubby loves it, I would buy it all the time when we were younger and just married.. it's one of the things I stopped getting because of the sodium content.

Minimal fuss meals-- that's how I play it!
Tear a box, open a can, snip open some frozen vegies.. dump, heat and we're set!:thumbsup2

Baking .. that's all me....why the heck buy dry tasteless cookies form the grocery aisle??? Make your own!!!

And biscuits, bread, pies... I only buy those if I can get them for free after coupons. Otherwise I make my own from scratch.

I buy bread for the boys sandwhiches, otherwise they would inhale a loaf of homemade in one day :scared:

your too funny....you will bake from scratch which is just about the same or more trouble than making stuffing from scratch but you want minimal fuss???:rotfl2: I do love the stove top stuffing its not that...its just on thanksgiving I love to have homemade stuffing...I NEVER stuff the bird...I cook it separate and it makes so much more than just the box of stove top kwim?
