Post all SW questions concerns, etc. here...

I have another question. I booked with 5 adults one 13 year old and one 6 year old. Should I buy early bird for all or what? I seen something about family boarding. We have never flown southwest. I have a family going that has 2 adults and the 13 year old and 6 year old.

Oops! but still the arrival time in Nashville & departure time are in the same time zone so 50 minutes on the ground yes? A pretty tight connection.
Oh gee. Will we make to the next flight in time? Should I change it? There’s one that has a longer time at Nashville we would get there hour and half later though.

When are you flying? Is it after 1/26/26?

If it is after you will have seats assigned to you if you don't purchase them.
If before that date then it is open seating based on when you check-in with the app/website.
Family boarding will allow up to 2 adults to board with the 6 year old but sometimes they allow more to board together.
Family boarding is done between A and B boarding groups so in everyone in your party gets into the A group it is not needed at that point.

My niece’s family consisting of the parents, 2 teens & a 6 year old were flying to Sarasota. The 2 teens were not allowed to board with family boarding, so the dad stayed back with them, only niece & 6 yo did family boarding. On the way back from Sarasota, they were allowed to join family boarding. This seems to vary with the gate agent, so they should have a plan if the extra adults & 13 yo get turned away.
