Not much, just got back from Sears, buying a pressure washer to get some of this soot and ash off the roof and blast the sidewalk and patio!:wizard:

Sounds pretty messy. Luckily the last couple of years we've lucked out when Mt. St. Helens has spewed ash the wind has always been blowing some way other than our house.

Grumpy Pirate - be sure to change the air filters in your car also. I'm guessing it's like the volcano ash and it really clogs them up.

I love the Pumpkin Spice Latte's at Starbucks. The other day I bought some of the Coffeemate Pumpkin Spice creamer, I think it tastes almost as good as Starbucks.

So you're just using Mickey and tossing him aside on the ground!:lmao:

Is the air quality much better in SD? :confused3

A little better! the winds are returning to normal! We have HEPA filters on the furnace, and in the bedroom, and DW's sewing room and My home office. Have had to clean them about every other day (usually once a month under normal conditions)

The problem is the ash and soot is like a really fine talcum powder. I washed the roof tiles with the garden hose as far as I could hit it, and the water came off the roof black, almost like mud. Yeck! We let the grumpy pups out and their paws are dirty from running through the grass, so we wash their paws before they are allowed back in. (they really don't like that!)

Its getting better, or maybe we just don't notice the smoke smell anymore!

After another week Im changing the filter in the car. ITs useless now as you can drive down the street and see the dust kicked up by cars driving!

Another great day in California!!:cool1:

It actually sprinkled in SAn Diego county last night, but not enough to clean anything up!

I remember after the 2003 fires, that six months after the fires I was finding caked ash in the cracks of the sidewalk when I was washing it with the garden hose!

The T.V. also said to wash your car with soap and wter, as the ash will etch the paint job out your car, if left on!:confused3

Eek! I wouldn't want it doing that to my car. :scared1: It rained a little yesterday but only for a few minutes. Now it's sunny again and hot! It's 83 degrees right now :faint:

I need to go look for the kittens. We just walked through the house and can't find them. So I'm digging out the flashlight and I'm on a quest. TTYL!

Just drag a piece of string with a kitty toy on the end of it! Instant cat detector!:wizard:

LOL!!! This made me laugh!!!!

I would have loved to have seen a video of this, and your face when Mickey plopped off!! :lmao:

Did you get rain last night?? Wow......where did that come from?

Hey everyone else!! I've been gone all day. First church and then that baby shower I was telling you about earlier. I made 2 yummy lemon cakes from the Barefoot Contessa, and a Pumpking Rum Cake with Brown Sugar Glaze. Very good and rich. But the winner of the day was Pumpkin Dip, served with cinnamon crackers and apples. Everyone wanted the recipe!!!! It's so easy!!! A great thing to take to a party, or office get together. Or serve as a appetizer before a holiday dinner. :goodvibes

This week I am also going to be busy with a Halloween carnival on Wed. It's an 8th grade fundraiser, and I'm in charge of glow stuff and balloons. Dave is in charge of the paintball target game. That should be a big hit for the older kids. I don't know if you remember but this school if K- 8th grade, so we need to have stuff for all ages.

Well I'm kind of tired, and I've lost my voice for some reason. :confused3

Your cakes sound yummy! I hope the fundraiser goes well. Sounds like fun. :) Sorry to hear that you lost your voice.
