Good Morning All!

Nope, it's already been booked and paid for. I'm going to Cabo San Lucas from the 22-26 of Nov.

What cruise line are you going with?

Yep! It's going to be the first cruise for my boyfriend and the first time we've been on a cruise together! :cheer2:

DBF and I went on our 1st cruise together in July. It was his 1st one too. I took him for his birthday. It was funny becasue the whole time before the cruise he was like "What am I going to do on a boat for 5 days?" Well guess what...he's the one who wanted to go on another one so soon. We are going on a Carnival cruise December 21-24. The ship will be decorated for Christmas so it should be neat!

i so would rather drive and listen to my kids fight, then fly:eek: i hate to fly

I've never been on a plane...:scared1:

yay, my Zune is shipped!

What is a Zune?

Think of the presents you've brought
Any merry little thought
Think of Christmas, think of snow
Think of sleigh bells Here we go!
Like a reindeer in the sky
You can fly! You can fly!
You can fly! You can fly!
Soon you'll zoom all around the room
All it takes is faith and trust
But the thing that's a positive must
Is a little bit of pixie dust
The dust is a positive must
You can fly! You can fly!
You can fly! You can fly!
When there's a smile in your heart
There's no better time to start
It's a very simple plan
You can do what the birdies can
At least it's worth a try
You can fly! You can fly!
You can fly! You can fly!

Alright Moto, you have inspired me to watch this movie! I love Peter Pan!

Morning Hyenas!

Gosh darnit, good morning everyone!
Can someone tell me why it's so difficult for people to just tell me where to sit for the fireworks and how early to show up and draw it on a map so I can see? :rotfl2: I just want to get a spot early because I'll have first timers for my trip and Friday the 16th is the first night for the believe fireworks so I'll need to get early...maybe what Il'l do is wait until other people start saving seats and then I'll sit by them.

I'm going on Carnival. This will be the 4th cruise I've been on. I went to Encinada through Royal Caribbean, Mexico with Princess Cruise Lines (don't like their cruise line) and Alaska through Royal Caribbean. The best cruise was to Alaska. It was one week and it was awesome! They have the best salmon I have ever tasted. Their salmon is all wild and not farm raised like here in CA. We did so many cool things too, like canoeing in the pouring rain and stopping at a little rainforest type section by the lake to get hot chocolate. It was really nice. They had a bonfire where we could roast marshmallows on a stick and they also had salmon with a sugar cane glaze on top and it tasted heavenly!

Good morning, hyenas!
There's a bit of a breeze going with the rain this morning, and we're expecting big winds tonight! :scared1:

There will be power outtages as a result, but hopefully we won't be one of them. If we are, at least we're prepared and will have heat this time. (Last year we were without power for 4.5 days, BRRRRR!)

Christina, on our first trip (Sept. 2006) we stood in the hub right in front of the Partners Statue (between the statue and the castle, I mean.) I was right next to a garbage can that was at the corner of the circular walkway around the statue and the straight walkway from the statue out toward the castle. (This walkway was crammed full of people seated for the fireworks!)

We got there about an hour before the fireworks, and of course the benches were already full. I've heard that people stake out the benches 4 hours before the fireworks!

On our recent trip we first went to the area in front of Small World. I've heard that's a good spot, too, but I honestly couldn't figure out where to look. People were seated facing every direction. :confused3

Turns out the fireworks were cancelled due to high winds that night, but the night I met Shawna, they did go on. We were in front of the Innoventions building (not far from where we met Shawna, but she and her family had dashed off toward the hub I think), and we actually sat on a cement bench back there (facing generally toward the castle, but of course the Tomorrowland Terrace was in the way.) Turned out to be an OK spot to see the fireworks, who knew? And how nice to be able to sit in comfort this time! :thumbsup2

Yikes four hours before the fireworks?? I've never had to wait more than fifteen minutes, so I was thinking an hour would be plenty of time. I'm pretty sure it will be busy Friday evening so maybe I should try and save a seat on the hub like 2 hours hours early?

Oh, and I have no idea about why the crowds were so big during our stay, but one night we were trying to exit the park down Main St. about 15 minutes before the fireworks. I have never seen this before, but the street was roped off and people were sitting in the middle of the street! All the way down the street! It was insane, I tell you. :crowded:

I have no idea, but I just get the heebie jeebies when it's that crowded, like claustrophobia ~ I just have to get away from it!

The kids just can't sit still that long, and DH won't. So I doubt we'll be in front of the castle again for fireworks.

So you've seen the fireworks from the castle before? It's very cool, so I'm glad I did it once. They project images and changes the colored lights on the castle, so it's really an amazing coordination between the fireworks, the castle and the music, I just loved it. :goodvibes

Yes I've only ever seen them in front of the castle. I wanted to try small world this trip, but I'm with first timers and I know the castle is a good spot so I want to go where I'm familiar. The only thing different this time around is it will be the first weekend they're showing the believe fireworks so I think it will be busier than it was last year when we saw them. I think I'll just keep coming around to the castle up to two hours before the fire works and then save a spot when other people start to. I don't mind waiting because we're going to be there for 10 days so it's not like I won't have time to do everything if I sit and wait for a couple of hours. I'm also hoping it won't be as crowded as I'm thinking.

I hope so, too! I easily could have sat on a bench for a couple hours. You can rest and people-watch, maybe somebody saves the bench while the other runs off to shop a bit or catch a ride. I bet your dad and stepmom wouldn't mind sitting down for a bit after a long day! :)

Last year on a Saturday it got packed, I've never seen it that busy it was sickening. I couldn't walk anywhere and people were so grouchy. I was slammed in the back of the ankles by strollers, and people would just stop in the middle of the road and we'd all slam into eachother and people would yell. It was ugly, and we swore never again would we be in Disneyland when crowds were that bad. so I really really hope it's not like that this trip.

Morning Hyenas!

Last time DBF and I went to Sam's Club they were showing Peter Pan on the display T.V.'s. I wanted to sit down with the kids and watch it but DBF said no. :rotfl2:

I really want to go on an Alaskan cruise. When I was younger I did the weekend one to Ensenada like 3 times with Royal Carribian. This past July was a 5 day with Carnival. We stopped on Catalina Island and Ensenada. The one we are doing in December is the 4 day 3 night. We figured it really wasn't a big deal to skip Catalina.

a Zune is the microsoft equivulant to an ipod MP3 player...

i found it cheap and bought it :)

Oh...cool!

Hey Guys!!!

Just wanted to check in real quick!!! We got moved into the rental house - and it is almost all unpacked and ready to go!!! :cool1: We do still have to clean up the condo and get the final few things out - and that has to be done by Saturday. Unfortunately DH and I overlap work this whole week (homecoming for the high school kids), but he is planning on cleaning some tonight. Works for me - he is the cleaner and I am the organizer - so he does the old place and I am doing the new.

I will post some pics once we get settled - but it may not be until next week. Then I will be able to get on much more frequently and relax!!! We have our own internet here - so no more iffy connection!!!

The place is great - a bit chilly - but great!!!

Do the benches on the hub face the castle? I thought they faced inwards...
I'm not sure. I know the one next to us was facing the castle, and we were on the interior of the hub.

I don't know if I'm explaining our location very well. You know the flower bed right around the statue? Then there's a walkway around that, with the 4 paths outward toward the different lands, and there are flower beds between these walkways and the street. We were right next to the metal fencing around the flower bed in the direction of the castle. There was a bench right next to it, and either it always faces the castle, or you can move the benches.

This trip I did notice two benches had been pulled right next to each other and turned to face the castle along Main St., so at least some of them can be moved. :confused3
