oh man alison...I hope everything turns out ok for your sister...my prayers are with you both...if it is cancer she will really need you...and Im sure its going to bring back alot of painful reminders of what you went through...but I will pray for you both to have the strength whatever the outcome is....
Thank you Lynn, I'm trying to think positive thoughts. But I think I'm probably more worried than she is right now.
You passed the test Albort!
Yes... yes she is sick. I quickly got clued into that when she started blowing chunks all over me around 4:30. Now... as you all know, Mikalah is just a chunk blower. Whenever she gets upset, and cries really hard, there she goes. But this time, we were just sitting there. She was complaining of being cold... just like dh. She fell asleep around 5:30 or 6.. She also wouldnt go to anyone but me. Not all that odd, but when I asked her if she wanted Ice cream (since she whadnt eaten anyting almost all day) and she said yes... So I was going to get it and she grabbed me and said, NO!!! Daddy get it!

You heard the kid... I guess I will have to sit and hold her while you get us.. I mean HER some ice cream...

Then she only had 2 bites.. That is a sure sign she is illen.Oh well...

I told dh that we should go there!
I think you just need to hang a tupperware bowl around her neck at all times!
I know... I think I am most worried about the whole family dynamic thing. My mom and my sister dont get along at all.... and my niece is 12... very sassy! I am hoping she keeps her mouth shut!!! But my mom seems pretty cool about what I have planned, and I think that we will end up splitting off from my sister at some point and my mom will come with us. I think the kiddie rides will suit her better!
Guess what we are doing this year. The same thing my SIL did to us for DS's birthday party this summer. We are telling her that we will be coming over. She will cook tons of food, then about 2 hours beforehand we are going to call and tell her that we changed our mind. We are just too busy and don't feel like driving that far! We'll see how she likes it!
I've lived in CA all of my life and never once have I gone to Rodeo Dr or Beverly Hills.
I just don't know what to say, I'm dumbfounded!
Hey buttmunches. how are we this evening?
First we are dingleberries, now we are buttmunches. I looked that word up Shawna and I think I would rather be a dingleberry!
Staley, were you thinking of taking the trees to DL and having them in the hotel room OR were you talking about at your house? Our Christmas is Disney themed. We bought a ton of ornaments on our 40% off day as CM's and added it to our already disneyfied Christmas theme!

seeing mickey dressed up at Christmas makes me happy. (dont tell Lynn!)
Dollar Tree had Disney ornaments last weekend.
Taking the trees to DL. We have never decorated our house for anything. Not a tree or anything.
Wow, I'm dumbfounded twice in one day! I think I need to make a little trip up to your apartment right after Thanksgiving!
Thanks! I decided I needed something drastic to jump start my weight loss and so I went on the South Beach diet. My brother and his roommates use this to get a few beer party pounds off quick. It works and it forces me to start eating healthy again. I am on phase 1 which is 2 weeks of strict eating then it gets more flexible!
WooHoo!! Congrats on the weight loss. I did South Beach once, I still use quite a bit of the ideas from the book, but don't follow the diet religiously.
Ummm... I am think NOT! We tend not to really get into the holidays, as you all can probably guess. Alex doesnt even get the whole Santa thing. Why would some guy he doesnt even know give him gifts?

I dont think he really believes in the tooth fairy either. and he TOTALLY knows that there are people in the costumes at DL. He never thought that they were actually the real characters. I guess I dont put enough emphasis on the magic of things to him.
Double Yikes!! DH & I still believe in Santa. Our kids know that if they quit believe in the magic of Santa they won't get presents!
Oh boy! Wind storms! Gotta love fall in PNW! Gusts up to 60 mph, last year it was really bad, hopefully we wont get hit as hard this year.
So what are you complaining about? You did see the photo of all the big trees around my house. I'm totally convinced that one night I will get smashed flatter than a pancake in my bed by a falling tree during a windstorm.
Gosh darnit, good morning everyone!
Can someone tell me why it's so difficult for people to just tell me where to sit for the fireworks and how early to show up and draw it on a map so I can see?

I just want to get a spot early because I'll have first timers for my trip and Friday the 16th is the first night for the believe fireworks so I'll need to get early...maybe what Il'l do is wait until other people start saving seats and then I'll sit by them.
Just follow the crowd Cristina. When everyone looks like they are sitting down, sit down with them. BTW, we watched them from a little to the left of IASW (near Casey's train) and we thought they were very good. Of course DH & the kids thought the best place to watch them was every evening in the HoJo hot tub!
I'm going on Carnival. This will be the 4th cruise I've been on. I went to Encinada through Royal Caribbean, Mexico with Princess Cruise Lines (don't like their cruise line) and Alaska through Royal Caribbean. The best cruise was to Alaska. It was one week and it was awesome! They have the best salmon I have ever tasted. Their salmon is all wild and not farm raised like here in CA. We did so many cool things too, like canoeing in the pouring rain and stopping at a little rainforest type section by the lake to get hot chocolate. It was really nice. They had a bonfire where we could roast marshmallows on a stick and they also had salmon with a sugar cane glaze on top and it tasted heavenly!
You should come visit me. We have fresh salmon, a canoe, it pours rain, I live in a rainforest, we have hot chocolate AND we have bonfires all the time in our backyard w/marshmallows & hot dogs for everyone. And if you're really nice I'll throw a baked potato in the fire or put a roast and veggies in a dutch oven. Not to mention my world famous Cherry dump cake that I make over the fire. Oh and have I mentioned that I can make an oven out of cardboard & tinfoil, use briquets and bake anything you want (pizza, cakes, brownies).
Good morning, hyenas!
There's a bit of a breeze going with the rain this morning, and we're expecting big winds tonight!
There will be power outtages as a result, but hopefully we won't be one of them. If we are, at least we're prepared and will have heat this time. (Last year we were without power for 4.5 days, BRRRRR!)
That's why we have a woodstove, tons of firewood and a generator!

Come on down to my house. We do the important things like hook up the tv & computer when there is a power outage!
Hey Guys!!!
Just wanted to check in real quick!!! We got moved into the rental house - and it is almost all unpacked and ready to go!!!

We do still have to clean up the condo and get the final few things out - and that has to be done by Saturday. Unfortunately DH and I overlap work this whole week (homecoming for the high school kids), but he is planning on cleaning some tonight. Works for me - he is the cleaner and I am the organizer - so he does the old place and I am doing the new.
I will post some pics once we get settled - but it may not be until next week. Then I will be able to get on much more frequently and relax!!! We have our own internet here - so no more iffy connection!!!
The place is great - a bit chilly - but great!!!
Hi Dizzy! Welcome to the Hyena Thread! We're a crazy bunch of people here, but I know that you will grow to love us! Have you been on the DIS long? J/K!

Sounds like things are moving along pretty good.
