Hey Guys!!!

Just wanted to check in real quick!!! We got moved into the rental house - and it is almost all unpacked and ready to go!!! :cool1: We do still have to clean up the condo and get the final few things out - and that has to be done by Saturday. Unfortunately DH and I overlap work this whole week (homecoming for the high school kids), but he is planning on cleaning some tonight. Works for me - he is the cleaner and I am the organizer - so he does the old place and I am doing the new.

I will post some pics once we get settled - but it may not be until next week. Then I will be able to get on much more frequently and relax!!! We have our own internet here - so no more iffy connection!!!

The place is great - a bit chilly - but great!!!

DIZZY!! I just asked Shawna last night how you were doing. You were missing and I was wondering if you moved in all right. Can't wait to see the pics of your new crib! :)

Hi!

Dizzy!!!

Glad things are falling into place for you!

DH was laughing telling me about your meeting at the GRR ride. He says you cozied up to them in line and said something about the hyenas, and introduced yourself as "Stephanie." He said he had no idea who you were, and you said, "Dizzy", and he did the ah-haaaa! That really cracked him up! :rotfl:

Then he said his name, and it was your turn to look puzzled, so he said, "I'm Alex2kMommy's husband." Ahhh-haaaa! :lmao:

oh man alison...I hope everything turns out ok for your sister...my prayers are with you both...if it is cancer she will really need you...and Im sure its going to bring back alot of painful reminders of what you went through...but I will pray for you both to have the strength whatever the outcome is....

Thank you Lynn, I'm trying to think positive thoughts. But I think I'm probably more worried than she is right now.

Test TEst test...

You passed the test Albort!:rotfl2:

Yes... yes she is sick. I quickly got clued into that when she started blowing chunks all over me around 4:30. Now... as you all know, Mikalah is just a chunk blower. Whenever she gets upset, and cries really hard, there she goes. But this time, we were just sitting there. She was complaining of being cold... just like dh. She fell asleep around 5:30 or 6.. She also wouldnt go to anyone but me. Not all that odd, but when I asked her if she wanted Ice cream (since she whadnt eaten anyting almost all day) and she said yes... So I was going to get it and she grabbed me and said, NO!!! Daddy get it! :rolleyes1 You heard the kid... I guess I will have to sit and hold her while you get us.. I mean HER some ice cream...:lmao: :lmao: Then she only had 2 bites.. That is a sure sign she is illen.Oh well...

:lmao: I told dh that we should go there!

I think you just need to hang a tupperware bowl around her neck at all times!

I know... I think I am most worried about the whole family dynamic thing. My mom and my sister dont get along at all.... and my niece is 12... very sassy! I am hoping she keeps her mouth shut!!! But my mom seems pretty cool about what I have planned, and I think that we will end up splitting off from my sister at some point and my mom will come with us. I think the kiddie rides will suit her better!

Guess what we are doing this year. The same thing my SIL did to us for DS's birthday party this summer. We are telling her that we will be coming over. She will cook tons of food, then about 2 hours beforehand we are going to call and tell her that we changed our mind. We are just too busy and don't feel like driving that far! We'll see how she likes it!

I've lived in CA all of my life and never once have I gone to Rodeo Dr or Beverly Hills.

I just don't know what to say, I'm dumbfounded!:sad2: :sad2: :sad2:

Hey buttmunches. how are we this evening?

First we are dingleberries, now we are buttmunches. I looked that word up Shawna and I think I would rather be a dingleberry!:sad2:

Staley, were you thinking of taking the trees to DL and having them in the hotel room OR were you talking about at your house? Our Christmas is Disney themed. We bought a ton of ornaments on our 40% off day as CM's and added it to our already disneyfied Christmas theme! :thumbsup2 seeing mickey dressed up at Christmas makes me happy. (dont tell Lynn!)

Dollar Tree had Disney ornaments last weekend.

Taking the trees to DL. We have never decorated our house for anything. Not a tree or anything.

Wow, I'm dumbfounded twice in one day! I think I need to make a little trip up to your apartment right after Thanksgiving!

Thanks! I decided I needed something drastic to jump start my weight loss and so I went on the South Beach diet. My brother and his roommates use this to get a few beer party pounds off quick. It works and it forces me to start eating healthy again. I am on phase 1 which is 2 weeks of strict eating then it gets more flexible!

WooHoo!! Congrats on the weight loss. I did South Beach once, I still use quite a bit of the ideas from the book, but don't follow the diet religiously.

Ummm... I am think NOT! We tend not to really get into the holidays, as you all can probably guess. Alex doesnt even get the whole Santa thing. Why would some guy he doesnt even know give him gifts? :confused3 I dont think he really believes in the tooth fairy either. and he TOTALLY knows that there are people in the costumes at DL. He never thought that they were actually the real characters. I guess I dont put enough emphasis on the magic of things to him.

Double Yikes!! DH & I still believe in Santa. Our kids know that if they quit believe in the magic of Santa they won't get presents!:scared1:

Oh boy! Wind storms! Gotta love fall in PNW! Gusts up to 60 mph, last year it was really bad, hopefully we wont get hit as hard this year.

So what are you complaining about? You did see the photo of all the big trees around my house. I'm totally convinced that one night I will get smashed flatter than a pancake in my bed by a falling tree during a windstorm.

Gosh darnit, good morning everyone!
Can someone tell me why it's so difficult for people to just tell me where to sit for the fireworks and how early to show up and draw it on a map so I can see? :rotfl2: I just want to get a spot early because I'll have first timers for my trip and Friday the 16th is the first night for the believe fireworks so I'll need to get early...maybe what Il'l do is wait until other people start saving seats and then I'll sit by them.

Just follow the crowd Cristina. When everyone looks like they are sitting down, sit down with them. BTW, we watched them from a little to the left of IASW (near Casey's train) and we thought they were very good. Of course DH & the kids thought the best place to watch them was every evening in the HoJo hot tub!:thumbsup2

I'm going on Carnival. This will be the 4th cruise I've been on. I went to Encinada through Royal Caribbean, Mexico with Princess Cruise Lines (don't like their cruise line) and Alaska through Royal Caribbean. The best cruise was to Alaska. It was one week and it was awesome! They have the best salmon I have ever tasted. Their salmon is all wild and not farm raised like here in CA. We did so many cool things too, like canoeing in the pouring rain and stopping at a little rainforest type section by the lake to get hot chocolate. It was really nice. They had a bonfire where we could roast marshmallows on a stick and they also had salmon with a sugar cane glaze on top and it tasted heavenly!

You should come visit me. We have fresh salmon, a canoe, it pours rain, I live in a rainforest, we have hot chocolate AND we have bonfires all the time in our backyard w/marshmallows & hot dogs for everyone. And if you're really nice I'll throw a baked potato in the fire or put a roast and veggies in a dutch oven. Not to mention my world famous Cherry dump cake that I make over the fire. Oh and have I mentioned that I can make an oven out of cardboard & tinfoil, use briquets and bake anything you want (pizza, cakes, brownies).

Good morning, hyenas!
There's a bit of a breeze going with the rain this morning, and we're expecting big winds tonight! :scared1:

There will be power outtages as a result, but hopefully we won't be one of them. If we are, at least we're prepared and will have heat this time. (Last year we were without power for 4.5 days, BRRRRR!)

That's why we have a woodstove, tons of firewood and a generator!:thumbsup2 Come on down to my house. We do the important things like hook up the tv & computer when there is a power outage!:lmao:

Hi Dizzy! Welcome to the Hyena Thread! We're a crazy bunch of people here, but I know that you will grow to love us! Have you been on the DIS long? J/K!:lmao: Sounds like things are moving along pretty good.

Oh no!!!! Does that mean the pressure is on me to keep you entertained this morning?:lmao:

Gotta run and pick up the little baboo! Catch ya later, kids! :)

Okay... Mikalah is feeling much better apparently. She slept straight through til about 7 am this morning, and I am sure she would have slept longer, but dh called around then to let me know he was going to be very late due to traffic... so I had to get up and get Alex to the bus. I bundled everyone up and we all waddled down to the bus stop in our winter best! :lmao: Its a good thing I bought Mikalahs winter coat a little big last year. It just barely fit her this morning... The sleeves were just a tad to short, and her face stuck out from the hood a little. BUT... she was warm. So was I, I wore my fleece, and dh's coat. I was eying his winter work coveralls this morning.... They looked so warm! But I thought the other moms would think I was a nut job if I wore them to the bus stop!:lmao: I even put Alex in 2 coats. One had a hood, but not very warm... the other was warm, with out a hood. So he wore both!:lmao:

Now Mikalah is peacefully napping on the couch. I told her she could sleep in Bro-Bro's room, daddys room, or stay with mommy and nap on the couch. Of course she picked me!:lmao: DH is STILL sick. He came home and said his throat hurt, and then passed out on the couch. SO I sent him to bed. His fever broke yesterday.... I know because when his fever breaks he sweats... alot! I totally thought he wet the bed. But no, it was sweat. :scared: eeeeewwwwwwwwwwwww....

Holy COW, is it windy right now! There are things blowing against my back door like crazy! Oh, and we have our first Parent teacher conference next week. THAT should be fun. Okay... I guess I am done writing a novel now!:lmao:

We got an offer on our house - it is low - but potentially reasonable!!! :cool1:

That's great news Dizzy!! Hooray!! Less stress for you and your DH! :thumbsup2

I know!!! I so hope this will work out!!! We would still be in the rental house for 6 months - paying 1/2 of what we are used to (which is actually 1/4th of what we are paying right now)

So... just got off the phone with my mom. Trying to get some Idea of what her plans are for our DL trip... She told me what she wants to do sightseeing wise, so thats something I can work on at least. I have an idea what to do fro the dining... Here is what I am thinking. 22nd when she come in... Maybe House of Blues... Dont know for sure though. CHristmas dinner at the BB. Well... lunch really. Then we are doing Lilo and Stitch for Breakfast on the 26th. :thumbsup2

BB? on christmas day?? I know Catal will be doing a full blown out dinner...Goofy's Kitchen as well...I know that DLH Grand Ballroom has a Thanksgiving Dinner that is absolutely amazing and I know that they used to to a Christmas Eve on there but Im not sure...if they still do I would sooo go...its pretty expensive but so worth it...Ive gone for Thanksgiving, Mothers Day and Easter...and each time has been absolutely fab...since your staying at PP..as it gets near Thanksgiving, I would call over to VP and ask them what offers will be for dining on christmas and they actually can make the reservations for you....BB is not going to be decorated up and serving a special holiday fare like these other places will...

(dont tell Lynn!) :rotfl2:

hey you can look all you want...just dont touch!!

I've seen small decorated trees at Target. It was $19.99 I believe for one with a Tinkerbell theme. They also had one that was Princess themed last year. I bet they might have some again this year.

oh yeah they are hecka cute...the princess one is Pink though:confused3

:lmao: You nut!

Okay... I think I have a good plan of attack laid out for our sight seeing day. First we will hit Rodeo Dr., then we are off to Pinks, then the stars... and the Disney Ice Cream place... after that, back to the hotel I guess.

uh you might want to talk to pix about the soda fountain...she said its not good and overpriced...besides why go there? its not like you arent going to be at DL or something;)

Pinks is a famous hotdog stand. I think it's in Hollywood somewhere but I'm not sure. I've never had it before. A lot of celebs have eaten there over the years since it was across from one of the movie lots.

 The super famous hot dog place! Its pretty okay too... :thumbsup2

IM NEVER GOING THERE AGAIN...spent 2 1/2 hours in line (not exaggerating) and ok the hotdogs werent bad but I swear the ones at costco are just as good...just not with all kinds of crazy toppings...they name all their hotdogs...and they dont even have fountain sodas..you have to get can..I didnt get any because it was just overpriced...but they do have filtered water that is really cold and cups so I got that instead...but im not going back there...I swear we got to Pinks at around 7:30pm and the line was wrapped around the back of the bldg....i did not get my order until almost 10 pm..by the time I got my food we were tired and ready to go back to Moreno Valley...it was a waste imo...but to each his own i guess...

Oh, and I have no idea about why the crowds were so big during our stay, but one night we were trying to exit the park down Main St. about 15 minutes before the fireworks. I have never seen this before, but the street was roped off and people were sitting in the middle of the street! All the way down the street! It was insane, I tell you. :crowded:

you know i meant to tell you after you came back but the last couple days that you were there, Mouseplanet was having their annual scavenger hunt...they had 190 teams there...and the tickets sold out in less than 2 days:eek: so thats why you had your crowds plus the fact that the weekend you came down was the gay day weekend...now Im facing them too...Nevada day is next week and loads of people will be there:sad2: slowly but surely we are gaining crowds at all times of the year...soon there wont be a "slow time":headache:

ok so guess what I did last night??? Tiffany was born at 12:03am on 10/18/86 so a few minutes before midnite i took her to the grocery store and gave her my atm card and let her go buy some beer for her to drink...the guy at the checkout said over the intercom" Happy Bday Tiffany...she turned 21 right NOW!!!" and the checkers all clapped for her ...embarrased her to death:lmao: :rotfl2: :thumbsup2

:lmao: :lmao: How funny!

We are doing the BB because my sis has has never been there, and wants to try it, plus the whole point of us going to DL is to have a totally unconventional Christmas. We have been to Pinks before, and my mom hasnt, so she wants to try it... and we have been to the Disney Ice Cream place and loved it! The Ice cream was so tasty!!! They had some really cute Holiday Specials last year, I hope they have them this year!!!
