It's currently 63 degrees here and very cloudy. I woke up with a store throat and headache and have been in bed all morning. I drank some chicken soup for lunch.
Hey I hope you feel way better tomorow! I didn't feel so hot today either. I think I'm coming down with my GS's flu. :sad2:

Sure hope Andrea doesn't get too many good jobs. She might have to start paying Alimony!:scared1:
:scared: Yeah, that wouldn't be good.

My brother is dealing with that possibility now. His soon to be ex lost her job, she is to pay for health insurance for the kids... who knows what will happen now. They have 50/50 custody of the boys. One week with dad, one week with mom.

I'm really hoping the judge will see how irresponsible she is.. second job lost in 6 months... and let my brother have full custody.
Some point in this saga she had asked for full custody AND alimony. She's can earn more than my brother.. so it's really not fair.

Perhaps you should try chemo! I haven't been sick, not so much as a cold in over a year. No sore throats, colds, flu. It works great!:thumbsup2 My oncologist says I'm the healthiest sick person he's ever seen.:thumbsup2

It's 5:00 somewhere! I'm outta here....hopefully I won't mow anyone down running down the hallway! Have a great evening everyone!:) :) :)

I have decided that Kaiser clinics are complete morons!!!

They scheduled a few appointments without hubby's knowledge. Didn't even know about the MRI one until I could log into his online medical account. :sad2:

I'll keep my cold germs thanks.

Oh no! A store throat? I bet there's a Juicy purse stuck in there! :rotfl2:

I caught a bug from DS3 on our trip (long story, in case you haven't heard about our adventures in flying.) Anyway, I've been croaking like a frog for about a week now, at least when the voice hasn't disappeared entirely. The boys enjoyed that at DL, doing stuff they knew would get them into trouble, then ignoring my "angry mom" face and finger-snapping. DS7 exclaimed most innocently, "But I didn't know what you were trying to say!" :confused3 Yeah, right, bucko!

So went to the doc today, and she says it's bronchitis maybe on the way to "walking pneumonia". I have no idea what that means other than I bark or have no sound at all, and cough a lot. And now I have drugs to take.

You've been shopping way too much Pix. So what is a Store Throat? Is that where you get a sore throat from hollering "That's my purse, I seen it first" at the Nordstrom's Half Yearly Sale! Or is it just an excuse you use when you want to take the day off work to go shopping?:confused3 :lmao: :lmao:

Hope you get to feeling better soon!:grouphug:
Dang it, Sam beat me to it? :thumbsup2

It means you need to rest or end up in worse shape :sad2:

Pneumonia is no fun, sucks the life right out of ya.

Time for chicken soup all around:goodvibes

oh man alex...i had that and it did turn into pneumonia back in march remember??? I never fully got rid of the cough and then when I got sick again in july I really didnt get rid of it...Im having to take an inhaler now twice a day to help with it....Yes, tink andrea is still going to DL but she will have to leave friday either earlier in the evening or wait till like 4am and leave...she has to be at work at 10am on that sat....but no worries...we will still have fun:goodvibes ...speaking of DL...Bernice, pix texted me and asked if we could go to Catal for breakfast instead of CC and I said sure so I canceled our Ps for CC and Catal is a walkin only restaurant so Pix still wants to be there at 8:30...:thumbsup2 hope thats ok with you...

Yeah, I was really surprised when she said that, because I thought pneumonia meant your chest hurt. I feel fine other than the coughing and frogginess. :confused3

FINALLY got a decent night's sleep last night, after a loooong week of restless nights at DL. Now if we could just get the little baboo to sleep in his own, very expensive little bed! I told him today that DS7 sleeps in DS7's bed, Mama and Daddy sleep in Mama and Daddy's bed, and DS3 should sleep in ~

He interrupted me and said, "Daddy's bed!" Little stinker. I said, "No, DS3 needs to sleep in DS3's bed. Why don't you want to sleep in your very own bed?" He just explained patiently to me that he needs to sleep in Daddy's bed. And his explanation had a note of finality to it, as if to say "and no ifs, ands or buts about it, lady!"

i know exactly what you mean...from the time tiff was 1 1/2 she had her own room...we always tried to decorate it really really cute so she would sleep in her bed...:sad2: never worked...she didnt start sleeping in her bed until she was like 12 or 13...I cant remember...my mom and aunt would get on me saying you need to make her get in her own bed its not healthy blah blah blah and I would say to them....for whatever reason she has, she needs to sleep with me and I know when she is good and ready she will go to her own bed and I am not going to force her before shes ready...sure enough one night she just said I'm going to sleep in my own room tonight mom...and after I fell out on the floor:scared: I said ok:rolleyes: and shes been sleeping in her bed ever since...now i realize because you and your dh sleep together he cant wait till 13 but the point to the story is whatever it is he needs the reassurance and comfort of his "daddy" and he will go to his bed in his own good time:love:

OH, good, Lynn, you're still here!

Please tell me what the deal is with Andrea??? I've been reading backwards, but it's taking me too long to find it! She got 3 job offers, and one they are begging her to take and she can work from home and it's a job recruiting position? What's the first one she accepted? And did she accept the second? This is awesome news!!!

The doc today gave me an antibiotic (something with a 'z' in it???) to kick the current issue, and an inhaler of albuterol. She wants me to use the inhaler the next time I get a cold, because I've had a rash of sinus infections and bronchitis the last couple years. Never ever had trouble like that before, and now all of a sudden, like 3 or 4 sinus infections last year and one or two bouts of bronchitis, I think. So we'll see if that prevents at least the bronchitis next time.

Oh, and I bought a neti pot today! Haven't dared try it out yet, though. The idea of pouring stuff in my nose gives me the willies, but it's supposed to be really good for the sinuses to flush out the uckies.

Alex!!!!!!!!

Welcome home!!! And I bet you are glad to be home!!!!

Symptoms of pneumonia caused by bacteria in otherwise healthy people younger than 65 usually come on suddenly. They often start during or after an upper respiratory infection, such as influenza or a cold, and may include:

Cough, often producing mucus (sputum) from the lungs. Mucus may be rusty or green or tinged with blood.
Fever, which may be less common in older adults.
Shaking, "teeth-chattering" chills (one time only or many times).
Fast, often shallow, breathing and the feeling of being short of breath.
Chest wall pain that is often made worse by coughing or breathing in.
Fast heartbeat.
Feeling very tired (fatigue) or feeling very weak (malaise).
Nausea and vomiting.
Diarrhea.
Symptoms of pneumonia not caused by bacteria (nonbacterial) include fever, cough, shortness of breath, and little mucus when you cough. They may come on gradually and are often less obvious and less severe than those of bacterial pneumonia. Many people don't know that they have nonbacterial pneumonia because they do not feel sick.

When symptoms are mild, your doctor may call your condition "walking pneumonia."
----------------------------------------------------------

There it is in a nutshell.

I've witnessed bacterial pneumonia with that sudden onset of symptoms.. hubby scared the crap out of me a few years ago. Month in hospital, chest tubes, surgery on lungs, ventilator support.... It's the one time that I truly thought he would die.
Leave it to my husband to make things more difficult... he got a weird virus that only DOGS get as part of that pneumonia.

Sit, roll over, play dead (oh wait.. don't!)

I see what you're saying, and I guess I wouldn't mind so much if he weren't such a wiggly, kicking, head-butting little thing! DH and I don't sleep as well as we could if he were in his own bed. And there are other reasons, too... :rolleyes1

DS7 was 3yo when DS3 was born, and we had to boot him out of our bed because there just wasn't room for all 4 of us when I needed to nurse in the middle of the night. It was tough getting him in his own bed, but once it finally took, he was pretty well out for good unless he had a bad dream. I guess I feel like DS3 is old enough now that we can reason with him a bit like we did with DS7 at that age. I read an article last week that studies show a link between heart attacks or heart disease and lack of sleep, and so I thought, "We'd better get serious about this sleeping issue!"

ok andrea applied for 3 different positions....one was through a pharmacuetical company, the golf course and this internet company...she had interviews with all 3 and all 3 offered her a job...so we went over the pros and cons of each job...money, hours, benefits etc...and due to childcare issues she decided to go with the golf course position because it allows her to work on sat. work 3 days a week, and she would still qualify for some of the benefits she has currently....then she received a call from the internet company today (which is the one she really wanted) and she told them that due to childcare issues she couldnt take the job...they basically really want her and are willing to work with her to accomodate her needs as best they can...so she is going to work for both for awhile...she applied for childcare assistance but the program is really full and she cant get in to apply until dec...so right now she is just going to do the best she can just to help her build up some savings and stuff...

Alex!!!!!!!!

Welcome home!!! And I bet you are glad to be home!!!!
Thank you! :goodvibes

We had such a wonderful time, but between the sickies and the restless nights and lots of walking during the day, we were pooped and couldn't get home fast enough yesterday. I overheard someone else at DL say that "once the bags are packed to head back home, I just want to get home already!" and that's exactly how we felt.

Long Beach airport isn't my favorite for several reasons, but mainly because it's booooooorrrrriiiiiinnnnnngggg. One woman at the check-in counter actually chastised ME because her co-worker began to look into why we couldn't check in on the computer. The first woman had taken our info and cards and walked away, so the baggage guy gave our stuff to another person there... When she got back, she yanked it all back from the nice, helpful person and started snapping at me. Oyyyy. :headache:
