Good morning, hyenas!
In a cheery, girly pink for Christina! :cutie:

DS7 is off to school, DS3 has had a PB&J sandwich and some yogurt for breakfast (:confused3 ), and I'm off to an eye appointment shortly. Wonder if this is the year I'll need bifocals... [shudder]

Not sure what the plan is for today; groceries? Costco? DH injured his knee last week and now it's very swollen, so he wants to go to the doc this afternoon and get his knee drained. :crazy2:

He suggested that the doctor visit might mean we postpone the DL trip by a few days, and I said I was gonna park his butt in a wheelchair but we ARE NOT postponing this trip! :thumbsup2

Awright, off to the shower and then to get my eyes checked...
Have a great day, hyenas! :upsidedow

pixster, I say get a dole whip float (gross) whenever you can! Heck you live in SoCal don't you. Go for it girl.

Christina, hope the hair goes well.

:sad2: You and your hate for pineapple!! J/k! :rotfl2: I'm debating on whether or not I should go to the park after work. I know traffic is gonna suck and right now it looks like it's going to rain!! :scared1: It was sprinkling lightly awhile ago! Hopefully it won't rain but just stay gloomy and cool. The weather is so nice right now! I think it's 55 or 57 outside. It sure beats yesterday's weather....it was in the 80's and hot as heck. :faint:

My co-worker said that he might go to DL on Saturday. He said his friend goes to DL every day! I asked why he doesn't work there and he said: "Good question!" :rotfl2:

Well I'm back. My hair is super cute but of course it was very windy on the way home and now it looks like hell, but she did a great job until the wind wrecked it. She had curled it in big beautiful curls, so I can't exactly brush it out to make it look good again so I'm just sitting here with tangled curls :rotfl2:

What's up Christina? I'm glad to hear that you are feeling better :yay: That sucks about the wind, I don't like it when that happends either. Take pics of your new hair-do.:cutie:

Alex-I'm sorry to hear about your DH's knee. I see that you are determined to make it to DL next week! I don't blame you! I would probably do the same thing! :rotfl:

Hopefully I can meet up with you guys next week. I know next week is going to be a little crazy but maybe the weekend won't be so bad.

I bought a bouquet of roses from Costco. I wanted to see what it would like with some vases and a pumpkin bucket I have. Here's some pics:

It adds cheer to my office desk and my co-workers actually "take the time to smell the roses!":rotfl:

Hi everyone, I feel so silly. Dh has his work buddies all upstairs and I decided to stay downstairs but now I feel rude. But if I go upstairs (I don't really want to) I will make a dramatic entrance and feel even more dorky. Why do I make my life so complicated? I should have just went upstairs with dh in the first place :rotfl:

By the way that candycorn looks mmmmmmm

You can go your own waaaaaaaayyyyy,
Go your own waaaaay! :rotfl:

ah the best band ever!!! I  stevie nicks....

Party City close to Halloween time is AWFUL!! I remember one year they had all the customers stand in the middle of the store waiting for the longest time. They would have someone in the back with microphones looking for costumes. I waited forever and they sold out. I think I wanted the Ringwraith costume from Lord of the Rings, but they were out since it was discounted.

hey pix have you ever gone to that halloween store thats on the 5? its after the citadel almost to anaheim???

And did you guys see that Lynn gave permission for someone to show me the secret bathroom? :teeth:

:cool2: security has been alerted!!

you know alex you might consider renting him an ecv cart where he can ride it from the room to the park and back...I go through a company called deckert and they are great....they charge $50 deposit that you get back within 3 days of returning home and they charge $40 a day x 3 days and after that its like $15 a day I think....they have it there as soon as you get to the hotel...bell service will get it for you and you return it back to them when you leave...there is more than enough room to keep it in your room at night and they have plug ins in the hallway like during the day if you go back to the room and want to charge it for a bit...if he does need something like that just let me know and I will give you their number;)

What a freakin fiasco ... I blame myself for signing us up with Kaiser insurance-- it was too much for their pea brain sized heads to realize that people DO move and get new insurance AND have health problems-- duh??????!!

"How did you get these meds?" "Why are you at that dialysis center" ummmmmm becuase he's always been on those meds and that's the center they found for us when we moved here??

Then we ask to get all his meds rewritten, we walk away and realize.. they didn't give us any scrips. Go back and ask.. oh go the pharmacy inside the clinic here-- ummm NO! Give us the written scrips and we will take it somewhere else.
We can get generics at Walmart for $4, co pays with insurance are $10 .. 12 meds x $10 = OUCH! in cash per month.

We wait around, get meds written out.

Get home, WTH!?? There's a med he has never taken before, and one we did not discuss in office.

Look it up because I have a sneaky suspicion it's not an appropriate med...

I was right.

It's a diruetic, it acts on the kidneys to get water retension out of the body. You pee it out which lower your blood pressure.

UMMMMMMMM   he has kidney failure, he pees like once every three months if that ..teeny tiny drops. (Sorry TMI)

Can we say med error???

Got a call into the doc, another process that was agonzing, can't I just call the nurse myself? NOPE! Need to call Kaiser and they put it in the computer.. argh!

Read up on the med, contraindicated with anuria (anuria = without urine). May cause electrolyte inmblances.

Glad we didn't have time to drop off the scrips :sad2:
-------------------------------------------------
The doc also goofed, gave him a scrip of 30 days worth of anti-anxiety med. He only needed a one time dose to use for MRI. Going to ask for just one pill when we fill it.
----------------------------------------------------

ohhhhh and we got a free Chikfila sandwhich. There's a new one opening next week. I had to laugh at the sign spinners dressed as cows. I stuck my head out of the window and said MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

And then we went next door to drive thru McDonald's ;)
----------------------------------------------
And hubby almost got me in trouble at the clinic. Guy stood up and started walking out of waiting area.

His pants were in his butt crack.

I leaned and whispered to hubby.. man get some new pants dude, those are too small!

And he looks, bursts out laughing really LOUD!

The guy looks back at us with a quizzical glare-- oh crap!:scared:

And we laughed some more after he left. To make it more interesting, the lady walking with him had knit pants on.. and ALSO had butt crack creepage!!!:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

LYNN!!!

I didn't see you there when I started typing my long vent there.. how are ya????

Hey, G!

Even though I can barely read (from getting those drops in my eyes at the eye doc visit) I am DISing! :thumbsup2 :cool2:

Did you see that you're supposed to call Staley on Sunday? She wasn't sure you were going to meet up, but I told her I was pretty sure you'd said you were going to DL this weekend. (Hope that was right!)

ooops! Got side tracked with looking up medication costs
But I'm here now!

YEP I will be calling Ms Staley Lady on Sunday, I think she said they will be sleeping in (until 8) and then hitting the park aftr breakfast.
Hubby is very much looking forward to a day at DL. :goodvibes

ok, got the med straightened out, they called back .. and N hung up on the nurse by accident. She called again and said "ignore the med". Didn't get a straight answer if it was an error on his part or the other clinic.

Guess I will keep on my toes with his medical things here.. we didn't have to worrry about that in MN, except dialysis staff being jerks by changing his dry weight.
Oh, and a doc in st cloud (small town) that prescribed him a med without telling him, didn't know until he got a phone call from pharmacy to pick up the order. Oh, and we did have another doc that scheduled a bone scan.. after he broke a rib playing golf! Didn't tell him that it was ordered, the center called with appointment time.

But those are good things, compared to a med that could cause him harm. :rolleyes1

But at least this doc tried to do something. And scheduled him for an MRI, hubby of course cringed at that idea

I see you borrowed Shawna's shades :lmao:

Are you becoming a stalker with your eye dropped eyes?

Who's not an angel? Oh, are you speaking of DS3, because he certainly isn't. Takes after his father! :lmao:

I, on the other hand...
