I'm gonna go take a shower and hit the hay. I just pulled an Alex and fell asleep! Goodnight Alison! Thanks for listening

We had such beautiful weather here today I'm guessing that Alex & Staley were probably out enjoying it. Our nice weather days are few & far between this time of year.

Good Nite Pix! I think I'm going to call it a night also. Kind of wore myself out this afternoon.

We had parent teacher conferences as well today! Alex's teacher was really nice... She said Alex was doing really well, and said that he is really energetic, and kind of hyper in class.... I was like, :confused3 hes my calm one!:lmao: When I told her that... she about fell out of her chair!:lmao: But he is testing really well, reading well, and doing good in math and science... So all is well!!!! :thumbsup2

Hey guys, finsihed my cleaning duties, mostly brushing ash off sidewalk and back patio. gonna have to get a better way to get rid of that stuff!

Everyone is O.K. here, just a little tired and dusty!! eyes feel gritty from ash so I have to use some of DW drops from time to time! Not compalining. still didn't have to evac!

later all.....pirate:

Somewhat, except a lot of the "woods" are floating around in the air!:)

I just had to clean the filters on the a/c again. cleaned them yesterday. the whole house and lawn is covered with a really fine black ash dust, after the fires are over, I get out the lawn blower and try and get rid of as much as possible, then wash down the tile roof! otherwise every little breeze gives you a sprinkling of "Pixiedust":woohoo: (the bad kind!)

At the noon press confrence they announced that they were lifting the evac of teh people to the south of us, and that so far, over 525 thousand have been evacuated in the San Diego area. They also said that Camp Pendleton has two new fires on base, working towad each other, each about 3000 acres.

We are doing fine, I still have two more 12packs of diet coke before it becomes an emergencey!:cool1:

:thumbsup2

Hey Guys!!!

Sorry I haven't been on sooner - we had a bit of a traumatic day. Last night Alec decided to jump off the top bunk of Alecia's bed, and might have broke his foot. Sadly, even with x-rays they do not know for sure - so they want him to run around for the next couple of days and if it seems to be hurting him really bad or not get better - they are going to cast it. The thing is he has a really high tolerance for pain - but sure seems miserable today the poor little thing.

Tomorrow is the big day - the major inspections are scheduled - so hopefully all goes well and we can move onto the closing/financing stage.

Hope all you California guys are doing good - the fires look bad and plastered the news last night.

My part of CA is OK!

tranfers just require you to have no bad record... other than that, that is it...

Im currently trying to join the Dream Squad.

  Good Luck! Just seeing the look on people's faces when you tell them they won something would be so cool!

GOOD MORNING HYENAS!! Just a little thought for the day:

Good morning, hyenas!
Back to normal weather here, overcast with possible rain later today. Ho hum.

I'm glad to hear all your SoCal homes are still standing. It sounds like things are getting under control and your homes are out of danger, I hope that's the case anyway. And Grumpy, you must be seeing some spectacular sunsets, yes? Take pictures, please!

I was on solo kid duty last night because DH attended a HOA meeting. Unfortunately it was "shower night" so a little busier than normal. DS7 was not cooperating about going to bed at a decent time, so I had to keep cajoling, reasoning, nagging, then finally pushing him off to bed. He was back at 10ish, seriously freaked out and sobbing because he'd "forgotten to finish my work and now Mrs. T is going to give me a 1 on my report card!" Good grief! :sad2:

So we had a little chat about completing school work in the time allotted, making good choices, etc. He finally shuffled off to bed, and so did DS3, but DS3 was back a few minutes later to curl up in my lap and crash. I also fell asleep (I know none of you will be surprised to hear that  ), and DH woke me when he got home after 11PM so I could crawl into bed.

I sent DS7's teacher an email this morning, indicating DS7 may ask her about his school work. She sent 2 emails back, the first indicating that his "I'm going to get a 1 on my report card" must have been a nightmare because that isn't how they work (though she thought it a bit funny that SHE is appearing in her students' night terrors  ) In the second email she said she'd spoken to DS7 this morning, not about his nightmare but she noticed all the other kids had taken out their morning work and got started, and he'd sat there for 5 minutes doing nothing but watching his buddies and chatting. (What is up with that?!) :confused3 She told him he'd have more time to complete work if he got started on it at the first opportunity. ;)

Awesome! I knew he was a bright boy! :goodvibes

We'll have conferences (both grade school and preschool) in mid-November. DS7 usually gets a good report, but after last night's eye-opener, I'm not so sure... And I honestly have NO IDEA what to expect for DS3. I really haven't worked much with him at home on numbers and letters, so wouldn't surprise me if he's a tad behind other kids his age. And he IS my hyper one, so wouldn't be surprised to hear about that, though I think he's better in a classroom setting. And I'm hoping they've found ways other than using COLORS to help teach numbers. A lot of the preschool stuff has to do with learning colors, and they use color to teach other subjects, like "Which one shows 7 red mittens?" He's just not going to get that because of the color blindness, so they'll have to be more creative with him.

Good Afternoon Hyenas!

I guess the fires in SD are contained. My sister returned to work today and the fires nearby where I live are contained as well. I haven't smelled the ashes or anything since yesterday. No more falling ashes and the wind has calmed down drastically. We have nice clear blue skies again, but the only downside is that it's 91 degrees out! :faint:

My little sister can't go to her swimming practices due to the filtration in the swimming pools (due to the ashes from the fires).

Very busy at work today. I hope I don't stay late but I have a feeling I'll have to. :sad2:

Thanks! I was so surprised when she was talking about him being in the highest reading group and stuff.:confused3 I had no idea!:lmao: Then she was talking about how he did when he went to ecap, and he must have learned a lot there... I looked at her like :confused3 He didnt go to preschool! She said, oh well.. You must have done a good job with him then!:rolleyes1 I did NOTHING with him... Alphabet and numbers and colors... Thats it! Anyhoo...

So I made most of my priority seatings today... Not knowing if my sis is going to be able to come or not... But I seriously doubt it. my mom was mad at ME when I told her.:confused3 Yup... because its my fault. I told her she doesnt have to go if she doesnt want to. Anyhow...

December 20th- Goofys Kitchen at 6pm
December 21st- Cafe Orleans at 6pm
December 22nd- Storytellers at 5pm
December 24th- Blue Bayou at 11:30am.

So far that all I have, but I think we are going to do storytellers for breakfast on the 26th... unless my sister comes, and we will do Lilo and Stitch. And if she comes then we will change the BB from the 24th to the 25th. But who knows...

Hi and Bye, its time to go home! Very busy day today. hopefully tomorrow I can DIS more!

Yo Pix! Can we send you some rain?? Sounds a bit warm there.
