I know I may be flamed by many but I have just seen so many things written here I just needed to have my say.... OK so you are going to Disneyworld and are hoping for a magical trip! Great! Just remember its a THEME PARK it's still just a fun place to go like Six Flags that has been made even better...what I mean is....if you went to Six Flags and things didn't go EXACTLY how you expected them to go would you expect them to !. GIVE YOU free STUFF 2. PUT YOU FIRST IN LINE BECAUSE YOU PAID SO MUCH FOR YOUR TRIP?3. MAKE EVERYTHING magical just for you? I ADORE Disney and I do expect good customer service BUT I have no expectations for say FREE FAST PASSES because I stumped my toe, or my money back for my ticket that day because it rained...why is it that so many expect to be compensated in some way for things not going their way? Example:" My daughter didn't get to see Snow WHite and went into melt down and DIsney didn't do anything about it"...heck there is sooooooooooo much more than missing one simple character. re-direct your child and move on people!!! There is so much fun that you are allowing them to sweat the samll stuff in life!!! Come on! Life is waaaay to short for that!!!:hippie:

I may get flamed with you, but well said. I agree! I don't like the "gimme" society.

I agree 100%! :thumbsup2

The problem is, we live in an "I want!" and "Give me!" society. If someone's trip doesn't go EXACTLY as planned, they expect to be compensated for it, a philosophy I completely don't understand.

Like you pointed out, WDW consists of 4 theme parks and 2 water parks and with those come the hiccups - ride closures for refurbs, for malfunctions, for any number of other reasons. There are going to crowds and rain and humidity. There are going to be any number of things that CAN go wrong but usually DON'T. When something DOES people seem to expect something in return, again something I don't understand.

Last October we had a 1pm ADR at The Plaza but weren't seated until almost 2pm. We didn't view it as a big deal, the hostess had come over to apologize as they were running behind because servers had called off, a situation I did understand. I was shocked when just a few minutes after we were seated a young CM approached our table, took our name and wrote out a FP good for any attraction for every person in our party. They didn't have to do anything and we didn't expect them to do anything. We were extremely grateful to have those "golden FP" in our hand simply because things were a bit behind schedule whereas the people sitting next to us kept badgering this poor kid because "You mean these are only good for ONE ride? That's it?" That ticked me off in so many ways!
