UnOfficial March 2012 Trip Planners Tread-DIS Meet 3/8 Info Pg 1

Has anyone on this thread been to Disney the beginning of March? I will be there the 3rd-9th. I almost went the 24th- 30th so I could be there on my anniversary but I read the crowds are insane =( So, what should I expect for crowds at the beginning of March? I know most colleges do not start spring break until the week after that. What is the weather typically like? I have been in August, too hot! I have been in June, too stormy! I have been in January, it was FREEZING! and I have been in November oh I love Disney in November I really am hoping for weather in the 70's and ok crowds. Thanks!!

We'll also be there the same time (Feb 29-Mar 9).

I am also going early March, 4th - 9th and hope that the crowds will not be to bad. I have never gone that early before, in 2009 we were there from March 24 thru 31st and it was wall to wall people everywhere we went it seemed. Easter that year was April 12th, where this year Easter is April 8th so it is my guess maybe we will be in luck with the crowds during our time frame.

The weather when I was there in 2009 was perfect only rained once and that was between midnight and 7am. Cool Mornings and evenings. From what I have researched the avg temp is about 5 degrees cooler earlier in the month so it should be nice. Fingers crossed.

The shorter park hours just mean I need a good parks plan.

I did some playing around after Airtran changed my flight down...saved almost 500.00 by going on the 8th vs. the 9th. We are now staying at POP March 8th-10th and then still switching over to CBR on the 10th. We will be going to 1900 Pare Fare on the 9th for breakfast and we now have reservations on the 14th at 5pm for Ohana.

I will now be down for the Dis meet!!! Can't wait!!!

I really enjoyed going during F&G the topiaries are just unbelievable, HRH is going to love them. I forget how old is she? Does she have a camera if so she will have a blast taking pictures of all the characters. I know I do

HRH is 7. And TOTALLY in love with butterflies and all things flowers DH and I have settled on our trip...for now. So for today...

April 19th-25th 2 rooms Poly Lagoon view CL (although DH thinks we should do GV to save $$$ )
then...25th-30th GF 2 Rooms RPC TPV...yep no suite but better view AND I don't have to listen to him complain that I overpaid for a suite I am happy we are still in the Main building...if I can book flights, I will add 2 nights at Vero Beach

Yay for another Diser to meet!!!! Sounds like it's gonna be a great turnout. I have asked this before, will ask again. Anyone gonna get Lime Green Mickey Heads so we can find each other in the crowd??? I know that D~ will have one on her duck butt bag... I thought I may pick up one and attach it to my bag with a little keychain. Anyone else going to do that???

is anyone else bummed that big thunder mountain is closed while we're all there? I know that ride is pretty weak but it is soooo fun. Not to mention it seems way faster at E.E. Something good is always closed when I'm there. Atleast I still have my expedition everest!

The changes sound great and I like the idea of Vero Beach sending that you can find reasonable air prices for your family, so much better than driving.
I wanted to go to Vero Beach the year we went with my DS and his wife since she could get her discount for there too but DH does not like the beach in hot weather(he is wierd) same reason he does not like the Poly...too tropical

The prices are pretty fair now...but I am trying to wait until after the holidays....just in case. I never feel done I really don't want DH to have to drive...he hates my driving, so it makes for a fun ride

We were looking to skip WDW this March and do Food&Wine in Oct, which we will, but we decided to spend the last three days of our 'Non-Disney' March 2012 trip in Epcot. Actually, after pricing single day, no-hoppers, we decided to get the 3-day hopper so we can hit Animal Kingdom and either MK or DHS as well. Our 8 day March 2011 trip got cut 2 days short due to a flood warning at home (didn't happen, thank you), but we missed out on two things we had planned, the Tequila Flight at Mexico in Epcot and buying one of those wooden wind chimes at AK. They will get done in a little over 80 days, but as always, our first ride will be the one in the pic below.

To be honest... I think my Duck Butt Bag speaks for itself - I don't even think I need a LGMH on it. LOL No one, but a Diser would carry that bag.

Forgive me for not being involved with this group. I want to be, but have been just crazy busy for months (school stuff and insurance adjustors)! I read it everyday but finally had the urge to write! DD will turn 12 on Friday and school will also be out for the holidays. Yeah! I was almost (almost) thinking about surprising her with a quick trip down to the World this weekend but my hubby frowned at that one. We are suppose to go skiing on Monday but there is no snow in Vermont but he still wants to go up and stare at the mountain from the window (I would rather be in Disney).

So thank you all for keeping my spirits up reading this thread. I'll be back soon.

When I was there in January splash was closed I was very sad =( but it was SO COLD I dont think I would have rode it anyways. Cali River Rapids was closed too.

Well, DH won't book until our rapid rewards points appear on our credit card acct. We checked last night and the web sight says it takes 6-8 weeks after first purchase for points to be given. My purchase was two weeks ago, 4-6 more to wait... As DH so perfectly put it " we will make it by the skin of our teeth" to get airfare booked in time for the 30 day ME notice! Doesn't he realize how much he is torturing me, the uberplanner??? He does, but it can't be helped...
