UnOfficial March 2012 Trip Planners Tread-DIS Meet 3/8 Info Pg 1

Thanks for adding me to the lists! I LOVE the idea of getting engaged in Disney too. I truely hope it happens. We have been together for almost 7 years so it SHOULD! =) And a big thanks to Lidian, L-Harper, and Oopsidaisy for loving my ADR's and wishing me good luck with my engagement hopes and dreams :lovestruc I'm so glad I found this forum!!! Have any of you been to Ohana? I am so curious to see how dinner is there. I LOVED breakfast so I have high hopes on dinner.

We went to 'Ohana in September and I seriously LOVED it! It was my favorite ADR we had... and we even went to Le Cellier. I thought the food was awesome, but what added to it was the atmosphere. It has a lot of energy and its beautiful. The best part of all? DESSERT!!! That bread pudding was the best dessert I've ever had. :cloud9: I booked it again for March, the only time I could get was 8:20pm. I'm going to keep trying for an earlier time, but I doubt its going to happen. I pray my little guys can behave! If not, I'll just send them up to dance!

sjs314- I now have an ADR change to accommodate the fireworks cruise. On March 11th, I have canceled Tony's at 7:30 and scheduled Crystal Palace at 4:50.
We have never tried CP, so it should be a lot of fun for the kids and I have heard the food is delicious as well. Very happy with the change. :thumbsup2 Would you mind also adding somewhere that there is a scheduled Dismeet at POR March 8th from 9-10pm at the Yeeha Bob show in the River's Roost Lounge? THANKS!!!!

WaHoo... Super excited to meet everyone at YB's - how awesome is that gonna be???

Gosh, I'm sorry. No, we are at Coronado Springs. I always mess those two up. Sorry for the confusion. :thumbsup2

For now, here are our plans:

Saturday (3rd) - Arrive at Disney :yay:, Check in to CSR, head to MK for Wishes :lovestruc

Sunday (4th) - Animal Kingdom with lunch at Yak & Yeti (1:00pm) if we don't poop out first; relax that evening at CBR with dinner at Maya Grill (6:00pm) if we didn't go to Y&Y for lunch

Monday (5th) - Hollywood Studios and dinner at 'Ohana (8:20pm) {I'm *really* hoping to score an earlier ADR since this is really late for us. I just cannot pass up 'Ohana though. It's my favorite!}

Tuesday (6th) - Magic Kingdom with an early dinner at Crystal Palace (4:40pm) If we go into a park on our arrival day - it will be MK

Wednesday (7th) - Epcot for the first day of Flower & Garden with Lunch at Le Cellier (12:45pm)Yup - Like Liddy said, a bunch of us will be in Epcot this day... I might need lots o' help keeping that girl out of Mexico though. :rolleyes1

Thursday (8th) - early entry into Magic Kingdom for breakfast at the castle (8:25am) We probably won't spend very much time at MK this day because its supposed to be SUPER packed, like an 8.5 from Touring Plans. We are going to relax at Coronado for the rest of the day.

Friday (9th) - Check out then head to Downtown Disney to stock up on treats from Goofy's Candy Store and to have an early lunch at Wolfgang Puck Express. We'll be starting our drive back home to Michigan.

Welcome aboard! You have some really awesome ADRs! And that would be even more awesome if you got engaged at WDW... Just think - we'd be the first to see your ring. :lovestruc I'm all twitterpatted just thinking about it. (it's our 14th anniversary next week, dh has a Dr. appt and dd has a choir concert... we probably won't be doing much celebrating that day).

Oopsi... I just wanted to say that I think it's awesome that you booked the Pirate cruise thingy... Sorry brain going into melt-down mode... It's going to be so much fun!

I bought another Disney gift card to add to my stash today... I am really lovin' that Target is selling Disney gift cards... I have 2 coupons, spend $50 get a $10 Target GC... So, D~ goes into Target, buys a $50 Disney GC, gets a $10 Target Gc - employee discount - 5% Target Check card discount = $42.75. Then D~ will go back tomorrow and buy another Disney GC - employee discount - Target 5% = $42.75 - $10 Target GC = $32.75. D~ just got $100 in Disney gift cards for $75.50. Seriously, everyone needs to get a Target Check card (it's not a credit card, it comes right out of your checking account) - You could all save 5% on your trip... Average trip costs $2500? That's a savings of $125... It's not much, but it's something. :wizard:

D~ <--- who really needs to get to bed... I sewed like a crazy woman today and I am tired. :cool1:

So glad that you're here! :goodvibes

It was always my dream to get engaged (and then married) at WDW ... but it never happened. Oh, well. At least I get to visit, and I can live vicariously through others, right? :thumbsup2

I have not tried O'hana's before. I'd totally love to try them for dinner! I've heard wonderful things! :cloud9:

WaHoo... Super excited to meet everyone at YB's - how awesome is that gonna be???

Well ... I'll be there, so it's bound to be epic. :snooty:
:lmao::lmao: :rotfl2::rotfl2: :rotfl::rotfl:

Totally looking forward to Yeeha Bob's meet!!! :yay:

Yup - Like Liddy said, a bunch of us will be in Epcot this day... I might need lots o' help keeping that girl out of Mexico though.

Well, I dunno about you, but I'll be at Epcot on 3/8.

And I'm totally hitting Mexico at RD. :lmao:

Happy early anniversary D! :cloud9:

My original plans were to be at WDW for our anniversary (in May), but we found FD for March ... and didn't want to take a chance of not having a good discount. Any plans to celebrate it on the weekend or something? :confused3

I forgot to add my .02¢ about O'hana... We went for breakfast... it was SUPER BUSY - to the point that we didn't get seated until 45 min after our ADR time - that did not make DH happy at all... He is not a patient man.

The food was delicious.

The characters were awesome! Especially Pluto - he was teasing the window washer guys - super funny! However, we had to wait an extra 30 min after we'd finished eating for Stitch to come out... and we waited, despite our server's obvious unhappiness with that.

We are going back for dinner this time.

Did I confuse my dates again???? :confused3 Yah, that's the REAL day that I will be at Epcot.

And I'm totally hitting Mexico at RD. :lmao:

Great... anyone interested in a security op at Mexico???

Thanks... Yes, I plan to celebrate with my neighbors... We are doing our holiday baking on Sat... Lots o' wine. DH will be at work - does that count??? :confused3

Oh, and check out our awesome tickers everyone...

We are now in the "2 months &" section! :)

D~

pas - I think I would make a very good stand-in Gramma, and would love doing all the princess things I never was able to do since I only had 2 boys. I did drag them to CRT but back then it was King Stephens Banquet and only Cinderella was there but I did get pics of both of them with her, they were like 10 & 20 at the time and humored me.

Me too  You are more than welcome to join our family. My boys like the kisses from the Princesses :lovestruc And we can always leave the DHs at the resort too

SoooooooooOOOOOOOoOOOOOOooooOOOOO epic. :thumbsup2

Did I confuse my dates again???? :confused3 Yah, that's the REAL day that I will be at Epcot.

OOooh! Pick me, pick me! :rolleyes1

Well, that doesn't really count if your DH isn't even there. :lmao: But that does sound like a nice weekend. :goodvibes

My DS loves the Princesses (and Fairies), too. It worries me about that he's loving them so much. :lmao:

Last year, he got mad at me because I didn't take him to see Tinkerbell (because he wanted to flirt with her). :rotfl2:

pas - I actually looked at April Dates after you switched your dates , I was surprised the rack rates were the same as what I am paying for early March, not sure if I want to deal with the flight switching but now your really tempting me with the idea of leaveing DH back at the resort :lmao:

 To Everyone

Like to add I have never been to 'Ohanas either but I have read that the wait to get in can be crazy busy, my DH would not be too patient either if he was hungry

No DIS meet for me either it is our last full day and we will be at Epcot

The 7th or the 8th? :confused3

The 8th, silly.

OOooh! Pick me, pick me! :rolleyes1

NOT you... Anyone else????? :surfweb:

I thought the important part was the wine - not the DH. :confused3

ROFL!!!!

Good morning! Is there anything special that goes on during Flower & Garden besides the beautiful topiary sculptures and the bands?

Will get your ADRs updated, good idea about posting the Dismeet on the ADR list page, I know I added about it somewhere but think it was on another page. Can not hurt having it listed twice :thumbsup2

You went all out with the announcment! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!!! :worship: It looks great!

I Love Le Cellier! I'm bummed that they bumped up to signature dining though. As for the dessert at Ohana I can't have it! booooo :confused3 I have Celiac so no yummy sounding bread pudding for this girl. I will ask the bf to take a big bite for me. Keep trying on your ressie, I find that a lot of people wait until the very last minute to cancel theirs so you could scoop up a better one. I'm super shocked that I have the ones I have. I even accidentally cancelled Ohana in early oct and managed to get the one I have now. Phew! I took advantage of the early ADR's and booked almost 5 months in advance! I really hope you find a good one!

There was a special event Sunday Morning breakfast held during the F&G Festival but not sure if they are having it this year or not since I am not arriveing until Sunday and did not check into it.
I wish I was going to be there for the concerts, really enjoyed seeing Paul Revere and the Raiders 2x in 2009

Well you keep changing things around, so I just never know. I think you're secretly trying to kick me out of all the DIS Meetups.

NOT you... Anyone else????? :surfweb:

But I'd be PERFECT for the job! Really, really! :rolleyes1

I just recently wrote a paper (as in I turned it in Monday and got it back today) and mentioned Celiac in it. I had never heard of it before (I'm sheltered, I know). Do you use a lot of corn products in your home?

I have some corn based products. I find things that are corn based have a stronger flavor which isn't always a good thing. Most of my gluten free goods are either rice based or tapioca based. I'm getting fed up being gluten free! I have only been at it for 2 years but it's frustrating knowing I could once eat pizza, rolls from bertucci's, churros from WDW, soft pretzels, twizzlers, oh I could go on and on about the foods I dearly miss. But, I feel so much better and look better too =) So its a give and take relationship.

We will leave the boys in the lounge....The Hawaii lounge :rotfl: Just switched to the Poly. Holding on to that GF suite though :lovestruc Not thrilled with only 20% off instead of 30

..but it's all good

O'Hana's wait is a little crazy. But DH always gets a drink from the bar, and they start bringing the food out right away, so once you get seated...you eat. Now I have to look at my ADRs AGAIN :dance3:

So the volcano pool won out over the clown pool ;)

My paper was on the benefits of corn. I did find an article that talked about corn being a good substitute for people with Celiac, so a few comments about it went into my paper.

I confess though, last year at DD's classroom Thanksgiving feast, one of the mom's brought in Gluten-free something and it was just GROSS. I'm not sure if it was stuffing or a bread ... it looked as gross as it tasted, and it was dry. (Perhaps she got the recipe wrong.)

I can't imagine how frustrating it is having to do without foods you love. My DD has a milk allergy -- she wasn't diagnosed until she was 7, so she can relate a bit with having to give up milk, cheese, and ice cream (and she says the Soy ones just aren't the same).

But glad that sticking with your diet is having additional benefits. :goodvibes

Oh gluten free can go so wrong! the first 6 months or so of being gluten free I threw away so much nasty product. Alot of it can be dry, crumbly, have a weird after taste it's horrible. I have it all down to a science now thank goodness. I have a friend with a casein allergy so I know how hard that must be for your DD. Has she tried Tofutti brand soy icecream? It's really really good. I personally like So Delicious brand its coconut based ( if I get exposed to gluten I become temp. lactose intolerant fun fun) I must commend Disney, they are so very good with us food allergy people. Every sit down meal the head chef will come and speak with me about my allergy (or in my case auto immune) and make what I want in a special way. Now if only there was a gluten free churro!!

Has anyone on this thread been to Disney the beginning of March? I will be there the 3rd-9th. I almost went the 24th- 30th so I could be there on my anniversary but I read the crowds are insane =( So, what should I expect for crowds at the beginning of March? I know most colleges do not start spring break until the week after that. What is the weather typically like? I have been in August, too hot! I have been in June, too stormy! I have been in January, it was FREEZING! and I have been in November oh I love Disney in November :lovestruc I really am hoping for weather in the 70's and ok crowds. Thanks!!
