Ok, I normally get this book for trip planning, and I enjoy it. With all the changes recently, would it be a waste of money to buy the 2016 version? Anyone have it that can advise? If the majority is still up to date I would purchase. I know lots of people here aren't fans so I already know your opinion, LOL.

I purchased the 2015 Guide on Amazon and it was packed full good info and maps. Don't see a need for it this year except for Disney springs and the new shows at Animal Kingdom not really anything new but a lot of construction.

I have the 2016 one and it's pretty up-to-date. I mean, I typically use it for ADR planning and just getting excited for the trip, and it definitely helps with both. With a moving target, no guide is going to be 100%, but Unofficial Guide gets it closest, IMO.

Thank you for your post. It reminded me to check out the local library. I found they had 2 2016 guidebooks available which I quickly reserved. Haven't been there since 2012 and it seems many things have changed.

If you haven't been since 2012, you should definitely get the guide. They have really great explanations of how Fastpass+ and Magic Bands work and how to choose your FP+. They also have up-to-date attraction and restaurant info, not mention Disney Springs (what used to be Downtown Disney).

I like the guide also. It's not necessary to buy one every year as they don;t update the info all that much from year to year but if it's been 4 or 5 years, it's worth it.

2012 was also the last visit for me and I know a lot has changed since then. Looks like I'll be getting it, especially if it has good info regarding FP+. Good to hear most of it is still up to date. Thanks for the replies!

We should be updating the Kindle/e-pub version on a regular basis. I have another update due ... well, due last Friday, but this week definitely.

Amazon's policy on pushing those updates to customers automatically is a little strange. They decide whether the update is significant enough to push automatically to everyone that's bought the book. We try to convince them that the updates are to facts that affect trips, but they don't always agree. The other option is to send Amazon a request for the latest version via email, and they'll push to your device. Make sure you use the same email address that's tied to your Amazon account. (Also, this advice works for any book, IIRC.)

How about Josh's and Dave's "The Easy Guide to Your First Visit". Don't let the title mislead you, it will have all the information you are looking for.
