Hi all,

Well I've aged ten years in the last hour or so ;)

I rang to add a couple of nights to our existing DVC booking for this August and I could not understand why I seemed to have more points available to me than I'd expected. The first woman I spoke to was a little - um, well, perhaps not the most helpful person I've ever spoken to at Disney shall we say? I could not make her understand that there were more points available to me than there should have been.

She fobbed me off a bit (I felt) and said she would send me a points activity statement. So I got off the phone and try as I might I could not balance the amount of points I had left for 2005/06 with my DVC planner. I definitely had 26 points too many.

So I rang again and went through all my ressies with a fine tooth comb ;) with another CM. It seemed that the last two nights at BWV had been taken off our ressie. The notes said we had cancelled them (which we most definitely did not) months ago. I was a bit worried as we are already swapping resorts 4 times and the last thing I wanted was to have to go for 2 nights to a 5th resort! Thank Goodness, there was still availability at BWV so we snapped it up!

Has anyone else ever had this happen to them?

I do feel very lucky we managed to get into BWV at such short notice though!!

That's really worrying. Should we all e-mail and confirm our reservations do you think? I have a booking for September and DS has one for August and it would be particularly bad if his was wrong.

Oh my...thank goodness there was still availability. I wonder why they did that.

So what this about adding more nights??
 
Oooh err, missus! What a good job you queried your points, and thank goodness there was still availability for you.

This is probably a very dim question, but how did you know the no. of points MS thought you were supposed to have? I'm not aware of any way I can check that MS think I have the same number of points as I think we have, unless I ring MS to ask - is there some other way that I've been missing all this time?
 

Well Hilary, because I was on the phone anyway adding my extra nights I asked them what was left in my 2005 & 2006 UY and that's when I thought something was amiss.

Gill - we had so many reservations for this trip I can't say I'm surprised something's gone wrong! Because we originally booked the whole thing at SSR (had separate ressies already as we split the stay in two to avoid one lot of weekend points). We then booked at BWV every few days at the 7 month mark, cancelling SSR as we went along. Because we had done it all in chunks we had 7 separate reservations (!) at one point (well, we still do have 7 separate reservations) and I remember Jon making this particular one - he wrote down who he spoke to, the time he spoke to them etc. I remember it particularly because it was the last 2 nights and we knew then we were all sorted for BWV. Whether there was some confusion then I don't know?

If you're worried, drop them a mail to check but I'm sure it's fine :)

Well, nothing would surprise me with our next trip - one hotel changed, one aircraft changed so far... :rolleyes:
However, I rang MS a few weeks ago because I couldn't find our SSR reservation confirmation and they sent me a new one. I've just double-checked it and it looks okay, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this part of the trip will be as I expect, even if nothing else is!

Karen - is it very tempting to just blame Jon because he made that final reservation LOL ? ;)

I'm just wondering, if MS said that you had cancelled the last 2 days, shouldn't you have received a new confirmation letter with the 'correct' dates? Did you receive one?

Anyway, I'm also glad you got it all sorted. Have a great trip!

No, we had the original dates sent through okay (which included the last 2 days at BWV) but never received anything further (or I would have been on the phone like a shot, LOL)
 
I cannot understand in this world of technology why DVC cannot send you a points up-date balance or at the very least have one available on the website to check. The only reason I can think they do not do this is in the hope that you lose track of your points and lose some. You certainly will receive a balance for the dues you owe!!

I guess all we can do is keep checking with MS what our correct points are from time to time.
