We have a car and want to drive from US to either Typhoon Lagoon or BB on a Saturday in April. Mapquest says 17 minutes, but I'm assuming that is w/o traffic. We would leave US about 1:00 - what do you think the "real" travel time will be? Are there any sneak routes that I can use? And - do I need to pay to park at the water parks? Thank you!

Your 'real travel time' will all depend on traffic, lights, etc ... allow at least a half an hour. And no, I don't believe there is a charge for parking at the Disney waterparks.

Beware that it can take 20-30 minutes alone to walk from Universal Studios theme park entrance/exit to where your car is parked in one of their garages. But once in your car, exiting is generally pretty quick and you hop directly onto I-4 westbound. Get off at the EPCOT exit and immediately onto Buena Vista Drive and Typhoon Lagoon is right there. You could indeed get there in 20-minutes or less driving time.
