Universal tickets?

I considered it but then we're renting a car and we planned on doing universal in the middle of the trip so it really doesn't work out.
jmho but that actually makes it better for an onsite hotel stay. First, it's cheaper pricing Sun-Thurs.
Second, you get 2 full days of express line access for just 1 night hotel stay. Since you'll already be in FL, you could arrive very early on the day of check in, get your room keys and express pass cards, let them store your bags while you enjoy the parks and have an easy stroll back to your room at the end of the day. Then you get another day of express line access on the day you check out. Again, let them hold your bags while you enjoy the parks. Dh will not visit without room keys. Once you try it, you are spoiled instantly!

Another benefit of staying onsite vs. buying an express pass, is that when buy the pass, you can only use the express pass once for each attraction. Once they scan your card, you can't re-enter again. With the room key you can go over and over if you like. When ds21 was about 12, he told me on the plane he wanted to ride the Hulk 10x in a row. Luckily, he had enough after the 4th ride.:thumbsup2 Dh and I always wait outside Men in Black while the kids ride another 2-3x.
If your a "one and done" kind of rider, then I guess it's not worth it.

How far in advance do most buy their tickets? Just wondering how long I should hold out to see if perhaps AMEX will run that special again..We're not going until May.

Yeah we're a one and done kind of crowd, maybe we'll ride twice. And we really only wanted to do the Harry Potter attractions. The bouncing from a Disney hotel to Universal back to Disney doesn't make sense for us. Especially since we're not going to have a car. I'll keep an eye on them but unless the price goes down it looks like we're gonna skip.
