Universal tickets?

Dh has the same problem. It happens any place fingerprints are needed: WDW, Universal, our safe at home. He's a welder and very rough work with his hands so he assumes that's the issue, maybe his fp appears different every time.
We've bought from UCT many many times for Disney and Universal and never had a ticket problem. I'd gladly take a $40+ discount each trip. Free lunch! :thumbsup2
I don't despise anyone. Well, maybe a former manager who was so evil. We were certain she had horns and filed them down before coming to work. ::yes::

If it was 2-3 hundred bucks yes. But $40, that's not even a nice steak. To each their own :)

You assume that buying from a 3rd party means you're going to have a problem, like it's some fly-by-night company. They have been highly recommended by Mousesavers.com for years and by pretty much everyone on the Disboards who has used them. I buy a lot of things 3rd party and have no problems but I would only try it if it was a reputable company.
I've booked Disney hotel stays through Orbitz and using Chase's Ultimate Rewards points. I've bought Disney gift cards at CVS. They are all legitimate companies that would stand by me if I had a problem.
Once you enter the ticket code numbers into MDE, you will see in Disney's website the tickets that were sold to you long before you get to the gate.
If it gives you some peace of mind to only buy every part of your trip directly from Disney, that's ok too but to anyone here who has used alternate, reliable methods to save money, well to us it looks like you're flushing your money for no good reason. If that makes you happy, have at it.

Depending on when you go, there are sometimes specials on the Universal website. I would compare prices.

Would never use a "Fly By Night" for anything, ever, that's just irresponsible. IF there was a problem I would rather just walk over to guest services instead of having to pull my phone out, get a 1800 # of Expedia, AAA, UT, ect and have to spend an hour on the phone with them. To save $40 bucks is no where near worth the time it would take to correct the trouble, IF it were to happen. If it were hundreds of dollars then yes its worth it to use a Third Party. Not for a 40$, no way. Just my opinion and trying to let OP know about a possible issue IF one were to arise. If they would rather have the $40 that's fine too, not going to knock that. Not everyone has the same financial freedom.

You're assuming there will be a problem.

I searched for complaints about Maple Leaf Tickets, Undercover Tourist, or AAA. I found nothing at all about Maple Leaf (another authorized ticket reseller); this article https://www.highya.com/undercover-tourist-reviews about UCT, which mentions one resolved complaint; and many general, various AAA complaints, but none about the validity of theme park tickets.

Forty dollars isn't negligible. But so few guests but tickets for just one person. Multiply that $40 times two, or five, or eight.

Thanks for all the responses, I'm going to go ahead and buy the special Undercover tourist has right now and I'll get a free day too!!! Since I'm buying for 13 people we will be saving $696.00 off gate price, well worth it, imo!!

I'll hope I don't get behind the disgruntled person when I whip out my 13 pieces of paper to scan. Sorry if i do, but it's totally worth 700.00!!

also, Undercover tourist codes as travel on visa card. If you have a credit card multiplier, you can make some good points back with it(ie Chase Sapphire Reserve earns you an additional 3% back)

I have purchased tickets from undercover tourist many times (both Disney and Universal) and have never had an issue. I have had issues with tickets purchased from Disney directly and then had to spend 45 minutes in line at guest services getting it taken care of. I'll take the discount any day.

While we're on the topic of universal passes is there a discount on Express pass? I kinda want to purchase for our trip in December but the price tag I just find to be outrageous!

Yes!!! Never a single problem with UCT tix or any from resellers but the one time we had problems with our tickets was the time we bought them from Disney directly. We had not one, but two problems at the turnstiles that sent us over to Guest Relations and the second time we spent about 30 mins of our RD time. Color me very unhappy!

I'd buy tickets from UCT without any hesitation over and over again. All my extended family and several friends have with no issue. I've even bought from some of the lesser known resellers and also had no problem.

Just an fyi for anyone not sure of Undercover Tourist...they have been in the biz for almost 20 years...Pretty sure they are not a 'fly by night' company :)

No.

eta: maybe it's less outrageous to stay one night in a Universal resort that includes Express Pass?

I considered it but then we're renting a car and we planned on doing universal in the middle of the trip so it really doesn't work out.

The express pass gives you fast access to a lot of rides. Which personally is a great asset

Last time we went it was one pass for up to four people, and it didn't include Harry Potter but the price worked out alright. Now it's another $99 plus theme park admission which is going to make it a $1200+ day and I just don't think we could swing it =/
