Our son is 11 years old and has severe congenital heart defects which makes it very difficult for him to be out in the heat and humidity. We will be visiting California at the beginning of July and will be visiting Universal Studios. We already have a doctor's note from both his pediatrician and his cardiologist detailing his condition. My question is if Universal Studios has anything similar to the SAP at Disneyland? I understand that there is quite a bit of walking at Universal with 2 lots to go to and we are very aware that it is going to be very warm in July and probably very crowded.

As far as I know Universal Studios doesn't offer SAP/GAC like Disneyland or Walt Disney World. I did ask Guest Relations about such pass but they just don't offer it. This was about a year ago. However they are pretty good in allowing you to enter through the Disabled/A entrance. The A entrance is for those who pay a little extra to bypass waiting in line. I am an annual pass holder and have been able to bypass some lines since I can't stand for long periods of time. I usually go through the A entrance and tell them I am disabled and they just let me go through. I am not in a wheelchair so I bring along my disabled identification with me just in case they want to see it. I have never found a need to show it. I am pretty sure you are not going to have a problem, just inform the person who is overseeing the lines at the attraction or show and they will definitely help you.

I don't know the answer, but my suggestion would be to email them and ask. Also, you might want to consider a wheelchair for him since even if they have a SAP like DisneyLand has, he might have difficulty with the amount of walking involved in going between attractions.

We were at Universal Hollywood in January and about a Sap they didn't have one BUT their employee's are highly sensitive to the needs of the disabled. I wish Disney's CM were as well trained.

There are two Sections but the whole park is Small!! There is a four part Escalator going down to the lower part, but there is a bus that will take anyone down and around to the bottom. The bottom is about the size of 1 land in the Magic Kingdom. The top is the size of 2 lands. The restaurant and store area is much bigger. With Hard Rock at the very back.

There are many inside shows. 1 water ride. Many indoor restaurants.

The Studio Tour takes you on a tram ride thru Kong, Earthquake, Jaws,The Mummy, and more.

We will be visiting Universal Studios in California in August and I too am concerned about this.

My son looks OK but has lots of hidden disabilities, so do you think we will still be able to use the A entrance.

Would it be best to get a Doctors note to bring along to show each CM at each attraction, and how many will be allowed to use this. (there will be 4 of us)

Because of my bad knees I was in a wheel car, which helped to identify me as a person with needs.

I have no clue as to what to due otherwise?? Can your son ride in a wheel chair?? Would it help him not to be as fatigued if he did ride??
