Another option is to do more park days. Stay at a value resort and make the most of rope drop and short lines near closing. Use midday to see shows, shop, ride non-headliners, take pool breaks and a nap. The difference between 3 days of park tickets and 5 days of park tickets is a little over $150 total for all 5 of you, which is probably less than the upcharge for one night at a premier resort (and you don’t have to move). I’d rather spend my money on more park days to go at a relaxed pace with pool breaks than two days of EP where we try to jam in as much as possible and the kids get tired and hangry. Plus you’d have to do those two long park days back to back, and my kids get worn out that way. We did a quick 2-day trip in January, and had EP, and found our kids were melting down by the second afternoon. We jammed a lot in there, but they just wanted to go chill in a pool.
Also keep in mind that it rains, often with thunderstorms, pretty much everyday in the summer. If you do more days, you increase your “safer” times - morning and evening - for riding. Whereas, if you bank on blitzing through the parks on your two days with EP, you might be disappointed if a lot of rides shut down for weather delays in the afternoons.
