Does anyone have a recent experience using the U Bot ride reservation system? Considering using this option during a one day visit between Christmas and New Years. Looking for reviews of this system.
While I can't comment on the specifics for Universal (it's Q-Bot BTW), this is what all Six Flags parks have used for years (even looks like the exact same hardware). Universal appears to be the equivalent of their standard (one reservation, no reduction in wait time)version. We used the equivalent of this once at a Six Flags park and it was just ok. Since that time we use the "Platinum" tier which actually shortens your wait times by a good amount and would be equal to using Express Pass at Universal.
For one day. if you can afford it, Express Pass is still the better option. Since Universal only offers a one ride, no wait time reduction system I don't think it would be worth it if the park is crowded. An example of this would be reserving a time for Minions. If the wait is 90 minutes at 1pm, you would reserve the ride and and come back around 2:30 and go through the Express Pass line. So, the benefit is that you could spend that time that would have been in the Minions line going waiting in another line for a different ride then coming back to Minions and walking on.
That's an old post that may not be relevant anymore. I'd contact UO to make sure that it still even exists. Haven't had anyone mention it for years and years on this forum.
Thanks! How did you find that date? I didn't see it on the page.
On our last trip, Oct 2016, we saw a sign in the parks for the Q-bot.
I remember it because I made a comment about the sign. It was near the exit of USF and was facing the exiting crowd. They couldn't have picked a worse spot inside the actual park.
I think they still use them, but it might be a 'seasonal' thing.
The best advice is to call and ask if they still use them and if they will be used during the time of your trip.
