Universal Meal Deal menu

BUMP!

I think this would be easier if I knew how to attach a thread to my posts!

I know this may sound weird, but what is the time frame, do you have to wait a hour or so? My 9 year old could eat 2 kids meals, eats like an adult, but does'nt like adult food. I mean could we all get our entrees and in say 15 min.later child is done could we go up and get another kid's meal or is it only 1 meal per restaurant? Either way I think it a great deal and I know we a least do this meal on our first day when we know we will be at the park all day. Thanks for info.

I think the deal is that you can go up as many times as you want for food--but only get one meal at a time.

The restaurants will probably open an hour or two after the parks open, and close 30 minutes before the park closes. So, for a 10PM close, don't expect to grab a burger on your way out of the park.

Wow...I guess I never really looked at the details and thought this was similar to the Q&C vouchers @ WDW where you were only entitled to one meal. So basically, you can get both lunch and dinner for around $20 a person. That sounds great to me!

phamton -- Are there any participating restaurants you would recommend over others and do they have any black-dates? (We will be there the last week of March during peak season!). Oh one other question, are these places going to be so packed that we will spend too much time in line? As always...you're help is really appreciated!

Has anybody actually tried this out yet? We are looking at going in December and I'm strongly considering it but it's always great to hear a first hand experience... :goodvibes

if you have the wristband, the food is unlimited.
of course i wouldn't go thru the line two times in a row five minutes apart. i would wait a healthy 15 minutes........

i was eagerly looking forward to the meal deal last october but it was pulled before my vacation time.

don't know if it will be around in december.

just have to wait and see.

ok im trying to be sneaky here i thought about buying 1 adult meal and 2 kids meal for one place then go to another place for another 2 kids meal for my other 2 kids i know it sounds naughty but could i get away with it :rolleyes1 just trying to save the $$$$

Meal deal for an adult and two kids--$37

Money saved by not buying meal deal for other two kids--$18

Lesson kids learn about honesty and integrity--priceless!

Sorry. It won't work. Each child gets a wristband. Cheating the system will get you escorted out of the park and a possible arrest.

There are no blackout dates. Sometimes other restaurants are even added during busy times. I have found that the lines can be long. I prefer Louie's. My least favorite is Mel's but it is OK for a fast meal.

my refillable mug is 10 years old.
it is still valid.

originally it cost 10.xx

if you are talking about the refillable paper cup beverage purchased with the program, then no, it is only good for the day you bought it.
so don't buy it at closing time as you won't be able to use it for free refills the next day.

Having never been to US/IOA before, how does their food rate? Is this really a good deal?

Food at Universal is so, so , so, so much better than Disney food. Every location seems to serve different stuff, not the same stuff with different names, For lunch the Comic Book Cafe at IOA is great, In US Mel's has really good hamburgers. I don't remember alot of other specifics other than it didn't seem to be pre made way in advance and then just heated up, it was real food.

yes they are !!

i kept my mug at home the first two years after i bought it
kept it in the basement with my other junk i hoard from universal.

when i bought a second mug in 98, the employee told me not to toss it but bring it back on the next trip as it is valid for refills forever........

woo hoo............refills for life and at a discount if you show your AAA or AP card .........

We went in December and considered the meal plan. The parks closed early like 6pm so 11 am to 5:30 did not seem to be a good deal to me. So pay attention to the parks hours before you decide on this. We are from the west coast so 6pm is actually 3pm and we dont eat that early. We did eat at a couple of these places. I thought the food was much the same and not very tasty. I would personally prefer to have more options than feeling that I have to eat blah counter service food all day.

Yep you guys are right i was just trying to be tricky after thinking about it and my own mommy getting on to me there is only one thing i can say i was wrong so ill just call this a lesson learned honesty is important to children especially my own :goodvibes
