Universal Meal Deal menu

You could just pick up fries or dessert not a whole meal.

Hi we had the 2 park meal deal in Feb .. on Raven's advice, we bought the refillable mug. With the meal deal , the refills were free. This is great for a teenager or anyone that eats lunch, snacks and dinner at the parks.

Many times during the day, my son just wanted a soda refill but then he picked up cookies to go with it.. YUMMY.. If you have a child's wristbad, then they can only eat the child's stuff. My son loves the other types of food so we had 2 adult wrist bands.

The desserts were Jello, which my son loved and the cookies. The cookies are individually wrapped so you can save them for later too..:teeth:

We ate at Circus McGurkus and Comic Strip Cafe- loved the chicken cesear salad, it was the best..
Loved the food at International Food and Film Festivaland Louie's Italian restaurant at US. I had the chinese beef and Eric had the chicken, great!!

We had the alfredo , and the burgers , pizza , the fruit too. The food was relaly godd and I felt the meal deal was the best for us.. Especially 'cause we got free drinks too.

i told you that circus and iffff had good food............

wish i had some now so i wouldn't have to cook....

Are kids able to order from the adult menu? My daughter has celiac and all of the kids chicken choices are battered and fried.

Thanks

normally no, the kids order from the kids menu.

since you have a medical condition, i suggest you call universal direct and ask them.

be sure to get the name and number of the person you talk to.
and, check in with guest services before you enter the park and go over the info with them.

sometimes wrong info is given out on the phone by the general employees.
double check the info at the park but bring with you a name and number so guest services can help you better.

Is there a web site that explains the meal deal?

No website can give you anymore information than what can be found right here.

Last time I checked, the Universal sight has been updated to include the information on the meal deal. I purchased it for my two sons when we went to Universal 2 weeks ago. They enjoyed the food at International and Louie's, but the kids meals at Mel's were terrible. They got one mini-hotdog with a dried out bun that was inedible. The one mini-cheeseburger was ok but not much for a 9 year-old. I would not waste my time eating there again.

How about this plan during HHN? We will be going on October and it would be nice to know that when we go back in at night we can still get supper.

We went to Universal on March 21st and did not think the 2 park meal plan was worth the money. I read all about it on Universal's website and didn't see that it was not good for breakfast so we did not get to eat until 11am after being up at 7am. The food was ok but the desserts weren't very good. For lunch, we were able to choose from bundt cakes or jello but by dinner the only thing left was the bundt cakes which were very bland.
We would have loved to eat something before we left but the places closed half an hour before the park.
We ordered ours in advance and had to pick it up at the will call window which was a long wait since they also deal with any ticket problems and only had 2 agents. It would have been easier to buy it at the restaurant after seeing menu prices and dessert options. We would have saved $3 but not getting it!

I am thinking of buying the meal plan but have one question. When I am in the parks, I get ansy sitting down to eat. if you get the meal plan, do you have to eat in the restaurant or can you ask for a container to wrap the food and eat while walking.

Is there a menu that gives the dessert choices or can you choose any dessert that they have there? If the only dessert choices are jello and bundt cake like the previous poster said, then it seems like a waste. I saw the menu that showed the selections, but did not see any desserts listed. I'm trying to figure out if it is worth it to purchase the meal deal for my husband and myself this trip or if we are better off just paying out of pocket for our meals. Thanks for any help with this question.

we just got back too!
We did it for one day at Island of Adventure. It was a great deal for the kids. But Ok for adults. The food was too similar. I think that would have been what we normally would have spent in a day for 2 adults.(we are not big eaters when at the parks)The lines were too long to go back and get more or just to walk in and get a cookie. But it definately covered what we would spend on the kids since that is what they eat when inside the parks.
now the soda deal...that totally rocks! $7.99 and IoA free refills that day and then any other time only $1.49! You could get it filled anywhere they served soda!
I think I would look at the time you are going. If it is a super busy time, skip it. If it is a slow time try it.
The desserts were jello, bunt cake that my son loved! and cookies!

Are these the same restaurants included in the "Kids Stay Play Eat Free" plan? We are staying at the RPR with this plan. On the website it does say that the Islands at RPR and the Trattoria at PBH are included and "select theme park restaurants" but there is no list of which ones.

How long were the lines for the meal program? 1 hour?
Was this a regular day Monday thru friday?
Or a Sat, Sunday, or a holiday(busy time)?
Thanks!

"Other exclusive benefits for guests staying in any of the elaborately themed resort hotels at Universal Orlando include:

• Priority Seating - By showing their room key card, hotel guests receive first available seating at most theme park restaurants at Universal Orlando."

Do we get priority seating at any participating meal program restaurant?
Anybody has tried this?

The last two weeks were Spring Break crowd. It was busy everyday for 2 weeks.

Priority seating is only at the full service restaurants not the counter service restaurants offered in the meal deal.
