I am planning our first trip to Universal this year in June. My three kids are 6 1/2 years old (girls who LOVE roller coasters & rides) & 15 months old. We normally go to Disney, but decided to try Universal this time too. Since we have never been & do not know what to expect, would anyone suggest buying the "buy 2, get 3 free" tickets? Just worried that we'll buy the one day pass & really enjoy ourselves & end up spending a fortune on tickets. I'm also worried that we'll spend $400 on tickets & only go 1 day. HELP!

Also, can anyone suggest any good off-site hotels new Universal.

Thanks! :Pinkbounc

Universal is two parks so buying the three day pass is a good idea. You do one park one day and then the next day do the other. The third day you can decide what you want to do. If you are going at the end of June, the lines do get long so that you can't do as much as you would like. Island of Adventure does have an awesome roller coaster, incredible hulk. Last year I stayed at the comfort inn on sand lake road. It was an ok hotel with free continental breakfast.

I would recommend one day for each park at least. Universal and IoA are fantastic parks, my kids love them.

There are several hotels right across the street from the park. There's a Holiday Inn and Doubletree Hotel directly across from the park and within very easy walking distance. Also, a friend of mine has stayed at the Motel 6 on I-Drive..it's a walk across the bridge but the motel is new and very clean. When you're checking into the hotels online, look for Universal/Kirkman Road areas.

Re: Offsite hotels
There's also an Amerisuites right across from the Universal parking structure (right behind Holiday Inn). Very nice, clean and great free continental breakfast.
