We have already purchased our 2park/1 day Universal tickets for May. I then found out about the express passes. Can we add those to our already purchased tickets when we get to Universal Studios? We are only taking a day out of our trip to visit Universal and the Express passes would definitely help us fit everything in. Any advice would be appreciated.

when you get to the park and you find that you need the express passes, you can purchase them at the park. depending on the time of year that you're visiting, you may or may not need them. i think that it's better to wait until you're there to see how the crowds are rather then spending the money before-hand and realizing that you really didn't need to spend the extra money..

Absolutely...I would never recommend purchasing the EP's ahead of time unless it's a holiday period.

check the uo website and see what the price of the epp will be for the date you are going to do universal.

the higher they are is an indicator of crowd size.
if the epp price is $20, that means low crowds.
the price of the epp can range from $19.99 up to $50

get to the park early, 8:30ish, and take advantage of the low crowds in the park. you won't need the epp in the early morning.

once it is 11ish, crowds tend to form.

if you feel the line waits are too long then, that is the time you should consider buying the epp.

if you avoid going on the weekend days, you will have less crowds in the park then.

the epp/express pass plus is not an add on to your park ticket.

it is a separate ticket for one park.
it is only valid one time only per ride/attraction.

there are the 2 park one day epp you can buy and the one park only epp.

i always tell newbies not to buy the epp in advance unless it is a holiday time period.

if you buy the epp in advance and get to the park finding there are NO waits, No lines for rides and shows, and therefore no need to use the epp, you are out the money.

the epp are non refundable.
non transferable passes.

what if you bought the epp prior then go to the park and it rains all day?
still no refunds on the epp

came back to add, you can easily do the highlights at one park and then hop to the other park in that day you will be there.

you really need to be at the turnstile by 8:20 that morning.
many times when the lines are long at the entrance, guests are let in before the official opening time of 9:00.

if you start at IOA, there are super rides that will be open at the early entry time. Hulk, storm troopers, doom, spidey.....

you do those rides and by 9 when the park opens, you move further into the park and no crowds or lines. you are already one step ahead of the crowds.

if you find that the studios side is very crowded when you go there, that is the time to consider buying the epp.
also, you would only be buying a one park epp instead of a 2 park epp

you would save money that way.
