Universal experimenting with a system to eliminate line cutting

I'm one for the electrified cattle prod...works well if used correctly.

This may be new to Universal, but is actually a very old concept. Six Flags in IL was doing this ten years ago. Worked mostly like a charm there, although we did still see the occasional brass ballers daring to argue with the employees because they had no number and no explanation and believed they should be allowed to ride anyway.

Six Flags also did this at Great Adventure. The line moved much faster then expected, there must normally be a lot of line crashers.

I'm not sure if I agree or not. On one hand yes if there are people trying to cut in front of me when I knew for a fact they were not there at all, then it would come in handy, but on the other hand, there has been times for us anyway when we'll all be in line for a ride then one of the little ones needs to use the restroom so DH or I will take them real quick and the other will wait in line. If we're still waiting when we get close to the entrance we always let the people behind us go in front of us , hope this all made sense?!!;) :)

There is a difference between this and line cutters....this is acceptable and obvious when you are with a child, and then joining the rest of your party. Line cutters are just that - line cutters. Taking a child to a rest room is a totally different thing and people are way more understanding of that. The numbers in this case may be askewed, but whoever stayed in line could hold onto the numbers and explain to the ride operator/ticket taker/number person, whatever they will be called, the situation....pretty sure they will be more understanding about this than a line cutter saying, "uhm...I don't have a number. Must have dropped it somewhere back there"

They should require the parents of these teenagers attend a class on how to raise a well behaved respectful child…but I would be willing to bet that most of the parents are not respectful either!
