Hello!

My bestie and I are visiting UO in January. This will be her first time, my second. We are going specifically for WWoHP.

I was wondering if anyone has used the Universal Dining Plan? If so, was it worth it? Do you simply break even or do you actually save money? I was considering the quick service option, not the full meal plan. The website doesn't give me a crystal clear understanding of which menu options we can get. It typically says vague statements like "can be used on most menu items" or "snacks include popcorn, Butterbeer, pretzel, ice cream, and more!" So what is the and more? What are "most" items?

Any input would be appreciated :)

While I'm not certain if I can answer your question, if you have free time I believe this video broke it down.

It is sometimes worth it. You can buy it while there - even when getting your meal. Look up menus and prices and compare. It's been several months since I compared, but last time I did it, the chicken and ribs at Three Broomsticks and a frozen butter beer for the snack added up to just fifty cents less than the meal plan - but then you also get a drink with the meal and an additional drink, so very worth it. I've heard butterbeer price has gone up again though, which would make it even a better deal. However, when we get a cheaper entree and a cheaper snack, then it isn't worth it. Also keep in mind that all in your party don't have to get the meal plan. We've done two adult plan due for our family of five and actually fed our entire family doing that. (Though, we might need three meals soon as the kids keep eating more - one is a teen boy).

We did the full dining plan when they first rolled it out. Overall we were satisfied with it. The Citiwalk restaurants were very generous with the food and desserts. There were not a whole lot of Citiwalk restaurants that participated but we were happy. The snacks were great and we were also able to get bottle soda with the drink credits so that was nice. We used the snack credits for breakfast at Cinnabon a few times.
I don't think we came out ahead but at least broke even.

Thanks for posting! I think I must have somehow missed this episode. This definitely helped, thanks again for sharing.
