Sounds like you've got a lot of light problems. I hope you get them all fixed soon. I hate it when the light bulbs break when they are still in the fixtures its such a pain.

Claire looks adorable in her dance outfit! Did she have a good time?

I think because our house is hooked to the farm we get surges and it pops the bulbs..or over surges them and they go out. I'll probably do it tomorrow. I hate figuring out which breaker is for where...and of course i'll need a flashlight too. It's such a pain. I've had to do it before..
And sadly cheap lightbulbs are just as good as expensive ones. So I just get cheap now because why bother buying expensive ones that are supposed to last and then they die a week later.

Light bulbs are fixed and I turned off my internet box and restarted it and things are going a bit faster today...Not perfect...but still much better. I definitly think that was the problem.

I bought these a few weeks back at Target....aren't they so cute.

I got 4 bowls, 2 of each style.

I got 6 cups, 2 of each style.

And 4 plates.

They were really cheap and I grabbed them up fast. i also got a chip and dip bowl shaped like a Minnie head. I didn't take a picture of that.

And the dishes........... man........ gotta go to Target now. Those might be just the ticket for my mid-summer doldrums.......... You know........ if I fill them with ice and SIT on them!

I was pretty far back at the recital...but they didn't come out too bad...Not great. but OK.

I do love the dishes. We always break glasses, so I loved those...these are plastic, so hopefully the last awhile.
I should've gotten more bowls (I think theywere $1.19 each). We often break bowls too. Its funny...Skip keeps using them over the other bowls we have.

Have you heard that if you cut a potato in half, jam it on the lightbulb end, you can unscrew it that way.

The cups look cute but for some reason I love glass drinkware. Now that Caitlin is older I love not having to have many plastic glasses. For some reason cold Diet Coke taste better out of a glass.


Doesn't Karin have the best stuff in her TR's? I want to go on all of her trips

I wonder if facebook is doing it to our modems...because that is what is happening to me too. Totally sits there and thinks and sometimes it only loads half a page...or no pictures.

I prefer glass too. those break all the time though here for some reason. Probably because Skip has no clue how to load the dishwasher (or at least he pretends that) and stack everything in the sink till I get to it. But these are actually good enough for me. I guess Mickey makes it taste good too.

My Target had several different Disney Christmas plates and bowls and cups. I didn't get them when I saw them and of course they were gone when I went back. Then I read somewhere in someone's thread that they got non Christmas ones in. I keep going there to check but I can't find anything. The Disney Store here has Mickey head shaped plates and plastic glasses and silverware its half off now so I should back and get them.

I LOVE the photos of Claire dancing - I saw them on FB and loved them there too!

It was another discount on top of that...and you know what. I stopped using my Target gift cared a few years ago when I got my Disney Visa. So I went looking for it when I went to go buy the gift card and the only one I could find was an expired one. So my guess is that when the new replacement came I just never activated it...and possibly just threw it away? I could call and ask for a new one...but honestly, I don't need to use it...I get myself in enough trouble as it is.

A few days ago I finally bought my return air home! now that isn't as exciting as buying it to go...but I have that done now too. And there was a sale, so I got it at a decent price...and used points, so it cost me next to nothing. The down side is that my arrival flight is NOT budging in price at all. It seems every sale is excluding Friday flights...and that is when that flight is. I really don't want to fly in the day before...only because the time for that flight is also early, which would mean that we would need to leave on Halloween to go to my sisters and Claire would miss out on trick or treating....To me, thats an important event in her childhood and she enjoys doing it with her friend each year. So unless they add a later direct flight, we are stuck with the Friday flight with no discount....or if they get nice and offer it on sale that would be nice too!

Another exciting bit of news is that I have now gotten the rest of the family booked with air too. They wanted to fly out of Detriot, which has limited direct flight options. Spirit...which no one wanted...the seat space is JUST TOO SMALL, and they are now charging and arm and a leg for everything. It would have to be dirt cheap to be able to justify paying for all the extras.

My Mom refuses to fly airtran because they constantly change their flight times. Everyone we know who has used them has never flown at the origional time out of Detriot....so that left Delta.

When we started looking at Delta a few months back, it was close to $400 per person. We were worried. It was much higher than we expected it to be for that time of year. A friend of mine who used to work for Northwest (which Delta bought out) said to wait..she said maybe even till Aug, but the prices will drop.
My Mom said if they hit $300, then buy. So we have monitored the prices and they have dipped down to close to $300, but not quite there and she said to wait till after her Colorado trip and then we would buy if they still were that low. Well they dipped to about $279 on Monday.
I went over to help book that night...but the flight times for that price had changed since the morning when I looked. UGH.. The flight back would not get them back to Detriot till a little after 9 PM. My Mom said there was no way to get back that late with so many people having to work the next day.

So we decided to continue to wait it out. And I checked daily this week and the flights went up to $330 a person again.
Yesterday around 11:45 my mom called and asked if I had checked flights yet that day and I told her no, hadn't done it yet...And she said to check because she looked and she thought they were $230 a person and she thought she might be wrong. She wasn't! They had dropped $100 per person overnight. So I quickly booked my parents and my sisters flights. Then sent emails to my cousins and called my Aunt. My Aunt said go for it and I booked theirs, one cousin got back to me and I did hers as well and then I called the last cousin and she said yes. So I booked 14 people yesterday on the Delta flight. I was worried that the price would change before my eyes, or after a few people go up...but we did it!
They won't be arriving in Orlando till around 6:10 PM on the 3rd. I will meet up with them at the airport. The down side is that we won't make it to the port area till later and will miss the Fantasy sailing out. The up side is that Claire and I will have a good portion of the day to hang out at AKL and check things out. We won't have a room to crash in though after check out time...but I think we'll find enough to do. maybe even a trip over to DTD if we get antsy.
They have a flight out at 10:15 on the 11th. The down side to that is that I had hoped to use my parents rental van to go over and check in at AoA before they left. I can still do this, but I'll have to head over very early. My thoughts are to take the bags over and just leave a carry on at the BCV with the essentials to get Claire ready that day and then just have that bag transfered over to AoA when we are ready to head out.
I'm assuming that the family will need to leave about 2 1/2 - 3 hours prior to the flight time to be sure to get the bags checked in and the rental cars returned.

I was frazzled for a while...making sure I had everything put it right... And then I spelled my Aunts last name wrong by switching 2 letters...so I had to call Delta...the first lady said she would be fine but I called back and got a higher up because i could just see my Aunt being denied flying. They took care of it and it all was fine then.
