Hello, newbie here to these boards; which are providing a wealth of great information. Thanks to the many and knowledgeable posters. My wife, daughter and I are taking our first trip to Universal May 21 -26 (we have been to WDW and DL a few times). I understand that the "Universal 360: A Cinesphere Spectacular" multimedia and fireworks show is "seasonal." Does anyone know if it is on the schedule for the dates we are going to visiting?

The show usually runs along with the Summer Concert Series but the dates have not been posted yet. The concerts are only on Saturday nights but the 360 show is every night in the lagoon at the Studios. Keep checking back for the dates.

The dates and times for the summer concert series were just released today and I can find NO mention of Universal 360 ANYWHERE on the site anymore. I can't even find it while using their search feature.

Has Universal totally given up on this show? I mean, it was nothing amazing to begin with (compared to Disney), but I understand why it had to be more about the movies and lazers than fireworks. I was still looking forward to seeing it at least once on our next trip in June. Anybody find anything I am missing?

What Universal really needs to do is create a show like World of Color at Disneyland. If they could create a show like that, it could be proformed NIGHTLY year around since ZERO fireworks go off. Even without the fireworks, World of Color is an amazing show and I think Universal could pull it off very well.

Give them a day or two to update the website with the 360 information. If it's not up by this weekend, it may be cancelled but don't just assume it's done. It's mainly a summer and holiday show when the crowds are very high. Again...give it a few days.

I imagine it'll be back here and there during the summer time.

The only reason they don't have a nightly show every day is because the park doesn't always close when it's dark outside. When it isn't busy, the park closes at 6/7pm.

I hope they do bring it back! I didn't brave the cold this Christmas because I thought I could see it this summer.

In case anyone is curious, a video of the show can be seen here (part one, part two).

Now... I'm sure this is a different experience in person but this show has some pretty strange moments. My favorites are "From 'Frankenstein' to 'The Fast and the Furious'!" (two movies with what in common?) and the bit where Steve Carrel screams and *boom* go the fireworks! :confused3 :rotfl2:

The show is on nights when the park hours are 10:00 PM or later.

So since the Studios is closing at 9pm every night this summer does this mean the show will not happen at all?

No wonder I never knew this show existed! D'oh! Ive never been during peak hours or summer/holiday crowds. Man, that stinks. I mean I hear its nothing great but I would like to see it at least once!

I have seen it tons of times and its pretty good. I'm hope they have it Sat or Sun on Memorial Day weekend.:thumbsup2

Do they normally adjust the park hours as the time approaches and they get a better picture of the attendance they expect?

I have no idea, but that would be awesome if they did! I also love Universal at night and the parks are never open long enough to enjoy it. I wish they would stay open to midnight during the summer months!

Exactly! The park hours will probably be extended as it gets closer to June. Last summer it ran from the middle of June until the end of August.

Yes...park hours are often changed...especially in the summer for heavier crowds. It happened last year and I expect the same thing this summer.

Do you happen to remember when they changed the hours? Was it only days in advance or a few weeks? Also, if you had to guess, how long do you think they would make it? Right now we are going June 15-22 and the first few days IOA closes at 9 and then closes at 10 the rest of the trip. Studios closes at 8 the first few days and then 9. Could we see an hour added to each time? I would love to be at IOA till 11 :)

I believe it was several weeks in advance...maybe two weeks? I don't remember how long IOA was open during the summer last year but I know if was at least 10pm...maybe 11pm...but again...I can't remember. We'll start to get an idea around the first part of June and if the heavy crowds keep coming, I don't think 11pm is out of the realm of possibility.

Well, I just went and checked the park hours for our trip to see if anything changed...and it did...but it was not good :(

Now instead of IOA closing at 10 while we were down in June, the park now closes at 9 but opens an hour sooner at 8. Since we are not morning people, I hate this change! I would rather be in the park late at night to see all the nice lighting. Oh well, hopefully they change it back to 10 soon.

So, it seemed silly to create a new thread since I knew this one was floating around.

Now that Universal has Universal 360 listed on the website, I was wondering if anybody knows if this will happen nightly during the two months of the Summer Concert Series or if it will only happen on select nights? The website does not list anything about when this will happen.

The dates for the show were released in the passholder mailing I received yesterday. The show will run nightly from July 4 through August 13 with the show not being staged on 7/9 or 7/16.
