Unexpected Phone Call?

Has anyone ever received a phone call out of the blue from someone saying they're calling from DVC with an important matter about our account? They called from 407-827-4744. thanks.

As with all potential scams, verify the procedure from the source.

Call member services at the number you normally use.

If they don't know about it, give them the number to make them aware of a potential fraud situation.

Agreed with the above. Never give out personal information to someone calling you. If it is MS, they already have your info. If it is an offer that they are calling about, and you are interested, take all the info, and then call MS back inquiring about it to see it is legit.

I'd agree to be cautious but a quick reverse phone number lookup doesn't reveal an exact name match but specifically suggests it comes from WDW property around the area of Vista Drive near SSR & OKW. It's likely legit. Do you have a wait list, pending reservation or II search ongoing?

It doesn't hurt to talk to them, just don't give them any info until you can verify who they are.

It sounds like a scam that we refer to as 'social engineering'. They gain your trust either through a lengthy call or over several calls and casually gather what you perceive as unimportant info..... intil at the end of the call you realize that all those bits put together are useful to them in taking your identity. ONLY DEAL WITH MEMBER SERVICES.... AND YOU INITIATE THE CALL.

I received the same type call last week. It was our new Guide calling to let us know that he was our new Guide.
