Undercover tourist and Magicbands

Has anyone been able to put their undercover tourist tickets on their magicbands? Can this be done?
Also, are there any downsides to buying your tickets through undercover tourist?

No downside. Upside is lower cost.

We have had no problem linking UT tickets to Magic Bands,

We have always ordered tickets from undercover tourist...have had no issues what-so-ever.

Linked tickets on both of our past trips...

We did this recently. Bought tickets in January from UT and they were great! Linked them in February. Only problem I ran into was that two people in my MDE had their own accounts and I did have permission to access them. So when I entered their tickets to link them they didn't show up. I called IT and had the most wonderful CM who told me what occured and fixed the problem. She then took the next step and linked our new photopass thingy to it too and fixed the issue we may have had with that! So if you do have any issue just call Disney IT!

We just bought six 5-day ParkHoppers from UT, paid the small upcharge for 5-day delivery and they were here in 4.

Had no trouble whatsoever linking all six to each account in MDE and I assume when our bands are delivered they'll be linked there as well, since the bands link to your MDE account and not to the ticket itself.

Based on our experience, I highly recommend UT.

Do you have to buy the bands though? I want some but we do not have any. How do I get them?

If you have an onsite stay or are an annual passholder, you will get a band. If not, you can purchase at WDW. The band will do nothing additional than a ticket will for an offsite guest.

linked friends and copied FP no problem at all. I had more issues with my AP/MDE than I had with her stuff.

Easy to buy from....bought a 5 day pass for the price of 4... linked them through MDE easily. Good cheaper option.

Just to be clear...you don't put anything on the bands themselves. Magic Bands do not store any information. They simply read whatever is linked to your MDEx profile. Link your tickets to your profile (regardless of where they were purchased) and your Magic Band(s) will be able to read them in your account.
