"Under 3" at buffets?

We are going in a couple weeks to WDW and planning on trying Trails End and maybe another buffet. Will DGD 16 months be allowed to eat from the buffet at no charge, or do they charge her as a child? Should we get her a plate or just feed her from ours? Just wondering what is proper etiquette and certainly don't mind paying for her; she eats like a horse, especially breakfast!

You do not have to pay for her and it's just fine to get her a plate. We went last year when our daughter was just about two and ate at many buffets. The cm's were great. They will even bring her a beverage at no charge when it's included in the buffet. We are also going in a couple weeks and my daughter will be 2 weeks away from turning 3. Believe me, she sometimes eats more than I do and I will not be paying for her. She is very petite and it's amazing to watch her "pack it away".

As noted above, children 2 & under will eat free at the buffets, and also at the family style meals(Ohana for example).
However if you order a kids meal off a menu at a regular restaurant for an under 3, there will be a charge.

i agree with lilyprincess...

my godson is the same way... we have brought him to disney many times, and they will let me get a plate for him. they will usually have a "children's section" for picky eaters; chicken nuggets etc.

but my godson likes eating what we eat... salad, and veggies included.

as a matter of fact, even when we give him the "children's meals", he'll look at our plates and say, "I want some of that" and he'll push his plate away.
