This will be the first time I am flying with one of my children as a lap child.. I have always purchased them their own seats in the past,- no flames please-
my question is, I know I have read here in the past that you should bring your child under 2's birth certificate in case they question their age, is it okay if I make just a photocopy of it, or do I need to bring the original?
Thanks you!

I would definitely bring it. It depends on the airline, I do know that SWA asks to see it. I'm not sure if it matters if it's an original or a copy.

I always take a copy. In the past they just throw it back at me, saying they don't need it. Now I just keep in on hand with travel documents.

A copy is fine and Southwest is a real stickler about seeing it! They asked to see my 6 week olds-yeah he's really over 2!

Wow! a 6 week old! well, thank you, everyone, I will right now go get his b/c and throw it on my scanner/copier and make a copy and put it in my carry on! I am flying Delta, so at least Im prepared if they ask.. I was just worried that they wouldn't accept a photocopy.. I was uneasy taking an original. Thanks!
