Uncertain about my ADR's

As of now we have no ADR and I am unsure which meals to make them for. We(6) are going November 19-24. DH>DW>DD4>DS1.5>DGD&DGM. I do have an ADR for Mickeys BBQ as it appeared to be the best dinner show for the little ones. I am looking for suggestions on places to eat and should we have an ADR for each and every meal. We have the DxDP and the grand parents are out of pocket for all meals but all meals will be 6 people(I am aware of gratuity). I was thinking about making one for a late afternoon Thanksgiving meal(not sure where but was leaning towards 50's Diner) and a character breakfast and just winging the other meals. I know to maximize the DxDP we should focus on TS meals but I am willing to sacrifice a few TS for CS knowing I will have little if any OOP expenses. Thanks in advance for any suggestions!!!!

Not making ADRs during a busy season on DxDDP is going to be tricky.

As far as the ratio, so long as you spend at least 2/3 of your credits on TS, the rest can be CS (with a few even skipped) and you should be fine.

However, I'd look into making what you can now, since availability is dwindling by the day. If you end up with few TS on DxDDP, you'll have lost money.

The dining plan thing to me is screwie....who eats an app and dessert with each meal? I got it just to not worry about OOP expenses as I know in advance what I am spending. Fortunately I upgraded from the free dining plan to deluxe so I am not out the entire amount if I come up short. I will just order the most expensive items at the TS meals to make up for any shortfalls and have 3 helpings at buf's and family style places. The DW said she doesnt want trip to be planned around food.

I would book some character breakfasts. Get them before the parks open. You have Chef Mickey's and Lilo and Stitch or Crystal Palace at the MK. There is Playhouse Disney at HS, and Tusker House with Donald Duck at AK. Then at Epcot is the Princess breakfast at Norway or Cape May over at the BC resort. That way your ts meals are in the morning before you even get to the parks.

Then I would book the Hoop de Do, 2 TS, or maybe the Luau for Thanksgiving, also 2 TS. CRT is also 2 credits and could be a nice breakfast lunch or dinner.

As long as you have grandparents maybe you should get them to take the kids and you and DH should have a nice alone dinner at Artist Point or one of the other signature dining spots.

I agree with pp that time of year without ADR could get tricky-especially with 6 people. I would go ahead and make the reservations and then cancel if you do not think you are going to make it.

Our 'must do' restaurants are:

-Akershus
-Chef Mickey's
-Citricos
-Grand Floridian Cafe
-Crystal Palace
-'Ohana (For Breakfast)
-Would also strongly reccommend the Hoop de Doo Musical Revue- great fun. Have not been to the Backyard BBQ but Hoop de Doo was one of our favourites of the trip.
:thumbsup2
