Ummmmm that's it?

Or I am describing being respectful.

Does it make you feel better coming here and ruining peoples vacations? Does that give you jollies? That says more about you than it does about me.

If people here, or any other discussion forum have the power to ruin your vacation then it probably is best for you to stick to tour guide sites sponsored by the destination you are travelling too.

The stargate obstruction is hideous and one of the biggest eyesores in any of the parks.

I watched an edited video (paging mr morrow - he made a few cuts so it wasn’t the entire show) and it wasn’t as terrible as I feared based on this thread.

It definitely had a few boring lulls. I kept expecting something spectacular to happen and it never did. The effects from the stargate were pretty neat but some of the other light/water effects seemed too random and chaotic. I almost think it would look better without the taco barges. Add more fireworks instead.

It also seems like good viewing areas will be much more limited compared with past shows as you want to be looking head on at the stargate. So securing a good spot will be something to worry about.

I’d like to see it in person at least once but I’m not feeling compelled to go anytime soon.

For the record, I am not talking about me. I am here to encourage people, provide advise, celebrate with them and help.

But I think it says a lot about the people and the culture here when someone says "if you want good advise and to learn about and get excited about your trip to Disney, whatever you do - don't come to our discussion board called 'Theme Park Attractions and Strategies'. Go somewhere else".

Reflect a moment on that.

Since this is a thread about HarmoniUS (I think)...can anyone that actually experienced it in person give a take on where to stand and where to avoid? From what I gathered, the water pictures are not a 360 view...or did I get that wrong? Anyway, just trying to decide where I should stake a pole to watch this show...and, of course, decide for myself the overall value. Thanks in advance!!
I was in Italy, not on the bridge, that was roped off, but I'm not sure that was the best view. Barges were off center from where I was which used to be prime viewing for RoE. If you looked from the American pavilion or the opposite side by the gateway (also roped off) you would be looking directly at the center of the wheel. I think the view from Rose and Crown will be OK. I'll try to scope it out better this evening.
I haven't seen it but I think someone posted Craig's video offers suggestions on viewing.
I found spots were more limited since the emphasis is more on the projections and less on the fw. That's my initial reaction anyway after 1 night. Now that I know what to expect I may have a better idea.

I am curious if it looks like it is centered toward Spaceship Earth. That might tell us if they intend to bring back the desert party.

I appreciate the response. I haven't looked at the video because don't want to form an opinion until it's up close and personal. I'm very open to your recommendations/feedback though so please keep them coming!!

I watched Craig's video. Harmonious looks nice. I dig the fountains because you don't see too many fountain shows at WDW. I just don't understand the tie-in with EP or the WS, and maybe there is supposed to be no tie-in with the inter-connectivity of the lands of WS? I guess I just don't understand how the show relates to EP which is strange to me.

In the end though, I don't think the Harmonious show was worth ruining the day time views of the WS lagoon with the barges. Plus, I'm a Illuminations fan so I'm biased (but bias doesn't mean I'm necessarily wrong). :)

So I am not sure if this was directed at me, but I will answer anyway. I am by no means saying you have to cheerlead Disney if you do not like something in particular. I do not mind posting about your views or experiences.

What I mind are the posts that basically offer nothing more than "Disney Sucks" or "Stop wasting your money" or "stop coming here and saying positive things about the evil corporate overlords". Try to keep in mind that many of the people here are new to Disney, or at least have not been in years. They are spending a lot of their hard earned money and they are excited about their trips. They are here for advice. They are here to celebrate. They are here to learn. They want to know the must do's. The secrets and tips and tricks that experienced people like you can offer.

It's worthwhile to tell them "you can skip this and you won't miss anything". It's worthwhile to post on here that you are disappointed with Genie+ or the latest firework show. It's worthwhile to post that Disney missed a mark, but the show could be better if they do x, y, or z (in hopes someone at Disney reads this).

It's not worthwhile to tell them they will have a horrible time, that they cancel and not go, etc. It's frankly not worthwhile to say 10,000 times in every thread on every page that you hate Disney and think they should die. We saw your opinion. Thank you. Move on. If you hate Disney so much, there is no reason you need to come to a Disney board and tell us why you hate it. If you want to offer your opinion on a specific topic on a specific page in relation to the topic, sure. But you don't need to repost on every thread a generic "here are the top 20 reasons I hate Disney". Instead consider posting related to the topic "I saw this show, and to be honest you can miss it. It lacks a storyline and the music was nothing special. Maybe use that time to catch <such and such a ride>". That's helpful and useful and guides the person while still expressing your displeasure.
At this point, though, it sort of feels like you're doing the same thing. Maybe it's just the frequency and length of posts in this thread (or a private feeling about the poster about whom you had saved however many posts from a previous thread) - but wow. It's a little bit hard to cut through the noise to find out what's really going on with the attraction (Harmonious) as opposed to this being a meta-thread.

It was brief; but I watched a video where they talked a little bit about how Harmonious has a three act structure and act I was gather. That helped (sadly, it seemed like the video left out the other two acts).

I think I am going to have to see it and I am hoping that I will understand it better when I do (2 weeks). But it seems like Disney has backed off from spoon-feeding the story like they did with Wishes, Reflections, and Fantasmic and have moved more towards trying to tell the story implicitly. Which I have to say, I am not a fan of. When I look back at my favorite shows (and Wishes is still on the top of my list), the story telling was usually more explicit. I think that works better for young children as well as for people like me who sometimes need to be walked through the story.

I don't need to be walked through a story.

I prefer shows that have a meaningful representation. This IMO was a Radio Disney mash up.

I hope others that are looking forward to seeing it get everything out of it they hope for.

This all resonates with me (I, too, preferred Wishes, etc but also because they were clearer with their stories/messages).

I would say the gateway Plaza ( I think it's called) between Disney Port of Entry stores is the best spot. Up against the rail might be roped off but the ground slants upward. America/Japan would be the next best to see the circle full on. Italy Bridge, Mexico also not bad. I'm curious how Spice Rd and Rose and Crown is since it is some what off center but I'm sure it's fine for the parties or they wouldn't do them.

Unfortunately, those better viewing spots will most likely be reserved for fireworks dessert parties. More Disney pay to play.

I watched Craig's podcast on the Dis Unplugged. He had that great vantage point between the two shops and his video was spectacular. He mentioned Japan and Italy as good spots and, surprisingly, Norway was also a contender. Unfortunately, a good deal of the World Showcase will have poor or partially obstructed views. The show just was not designed for 360° viewing.

FWIW watched it again last night from just left of Rose and Crown to get an idea of what that view would be. It is definitely a good view even without having a dead on view of the circle. You will miss the colored water screens in the center, but they don't go on during the whole show and there is certainly enough else going on.
I liked the show more tonight. The first song is very good. The visuals with the colors and fountains are impressive. Still no feels for me from the music, but I think it is worth seeing and forming your own opinion.
It's like looking at art where people see different things :) .

The show was so loud…. Why all the scream singing? I thought the animation looked awful. Those flowers in the Coco scene looked like a screensaver from the 90’s. I’m sorry, I’m just feeling really rotten after watching this show. I embrace change and new things. I thought HEA was better than wishes because it was beautifully done. It told a story. This was just…. Ugh. How did this have anything to do with harmony between nations? I thought that was the point of harmoniUS.
I love listening to Disney music during the day while I’m doing chores… when illuminations or wishes or HEA come on I get so excited and emotional. If this show came on I would hit skip.
I 100% agree with you on this. I felt that the belting singers and weird arrangements on these classic songs ruined everything. The animations were sub-par, Disney is capable of more than this.

I feel like these song selections would’ve represented Epcot better, plus they’re not all the same ones we hear every single time Disney makes a show lol
