Ummmmm that's it?

Welcome the the new Disney, where it's all about Disney and its IP.

Wishes! and Illuminations: Reflections of Earth were all about you, and what you could be, and the people you love, and who love you. #Feels

WDI has lost its direction, or more appropriately, is being guided into a whole new world. I can say that, and that's all I can say about that.

It's a new day at Disney. And it's not a good one. #Sad

Me too. Did you notice the fireworks that looked like flaming swords? Still trying to figure out how they did this. Looked like water, lasers...just incredible. And we had an obstructed view. I don’t care about “messages”, I’m just looking for beautiful things.

The show was so loud…. Why all the scream singing? I thought the animation looked awful. Those flowers in the Coco scene looked like a screensaver from the 90’s. I’m sorry, I’m just feeling really rotten after watching this show. I embrace change and new things. I thought HEA was better than wishes because it was beautifully done. It told a story. This was just…. Ugh. How did this have anything to do with harmony between nations? I thought that was the point of harmoniUS.
I love listening to Disney music during the day while I’m doing chores… when illuminations or wishes or HEA come on I get so excited and emotional. If this show came on I would hit skip.

That was the original design/intent. It was delayed for a reason. And it wasn't all Covid.

We may watch it once in person to give it fair chance. But, what I saw streamed last night was beyond disappointing. No emotion whatsoever. Seemed very disconnected. It’s all good though. More time for WS or rides until park closing without grabbing a spot for the fireworks. Let’s hope the MK replacement is far better.

Look at it this way to put a positive spin on it. With so many miserable failures of late, the sheer mathematics of it all says that someday soon, they may actually get something right again. I don't know what it will be or when it will be, but surely it's bound to happen, right?

I'm holding out on seeing anything until I see it in person on Saturday, but I've been seeing mostly positive reviews, so I can't wait!!

But I should've known better than to open this thread while on vacation. People on here are just getting way too dang negative about everything.

I look forward to seeing it in person! I do think it does the job of closing the evening with a "spectacular" show. I was so worried it was going to end with that screaming song. I was glad it transitioned into something mellow and slightly emotional. I think my granddaughters will connect more with it because of the tie-in to the animated movie songs/characters. From all the negative reviews I was concerned. I think we will enjoy it in person.

I remember every night of every trip for years and YEARS over tens of trips, maybe a hundred or more, our family would argue about whether we were going to go to MK to see Wishes! or Epcot to watch Illuminations. EVERY night. And we weren't the only ones.

HEA? One and done. I will glance up at the fireworks if we happen to be in MK. The "temporary" Epcot show was a total failure. At least you could buy a beer to get through it. Harmonious is yet another one and done.

The parks have always been about #Feels, and the fireworks were always designed to wrap up your night and to leave you in that mood. That wonderful feeling we all got when Wishes! ended, or as you exited Epcot after Illuminations as "Promise" played throughout the walk out. Gone. And it's a sad thing, people. A very sad thing indeed. What's even sadder is the number of people that will soon never know what it used to be.

OK. I'm done. Probably.

They very much got the beacons of light on Spaceship Earth right.

I've been seeing mostly positive reviews

Make sure then that you go for the location with the dead on view of the show. That is where the bloggers would have been viewing from. Additionally there is a group of Disney news locations which are pretty much always going to say something positive. I read from one place that the dinner price at Space 220 was worth it for the "ride" alone.

Also to be clear the show needed to be absolutely amazing to make up for the issues of having the StarGate in the middle of the lagoon all day. I am not an engineer but I play one on TV and I didn't feel like Disney did anything that should not have been possible without those permanent structures, they are permanent to help keep the budget down was my takeaway and why I have a thumbs down view of this currently.

As someone who did not like Illuminations at all, I’m looking forward to seeing the new one. I plan on avoiding watching any videos of it until after I get to see it in person.

I don't really read any blogs at all. A large majority of the negatives I've seen are from those who watched the stream, which is not really a good indicator anyway.

Same. Wasn't a huge fan of Illuminations, though I did enjoy Epcot Forever for what it was. Can't wait to see it finally on Saturday!
