Ultrafeast: Beach Club CL Trip March 2010 - New 7/6

Innovations sure has added a lot of new stuff since I was last there in December 2008! I love those simulator roller coasters and can't wait for my kids to try them out (my kids aren't little anymore but we always have a blast together). A co-worker is going to WDW May 2-8th and I hope the topiaries look great by then. Although I wonder how he will survive all the pollen!

Great update, loving the F&GF pics.

I hope Laura found her phone, theres nothing worse than being without your phone, sometimes its like you're missing an arm.

Le Cellier looked fab and how nice of the CM to give you a hint when to come back and what time :)

Great photos of the F&G festival. I am going to miss it by 3 days this year, but that is okay we are going to the Star Wars weekend for the first time. Great review of Le Cellier, we are eating there for the first time next month. I agree the soup is a bit much with salt and bacon, I had some at the F&W back in October. It's funny though I made my own at home from the allears.net recipe and it was devine. Looking forward to hearing more of your TR.

Thanks - I loved the Flower and Garden Festival! Hope you enjoy Le Cellier next month! :thumbsup2 Ooh, think I might have to look up that cheddar cheese soup recipe - I'm sure it would be delicious without the excessive saltiness!

The roller coaster thing in Innovations was really cool, and we're obviously not little anymore either, but had a blast in Disney too! :goodvibes My allergies weren't bad at all during the F&G Festival, but up here in the northeast this week, they're terrible!

Thanks! :goodvibes Laura handled her phone being missing quite well - if it were me, I'd have been much more frantic! I've lost/ broken several phones, and it's always a nightmare!

It was wonderful of our Le Cellier server to give us the hint about when to return! Gotta love those Le Cellier CMs! :thumbsup2

After our visit to the Nsync photos, we continued back into the park and took a ride on Spaceship Earth.

Kevin’s picture looks like it captured the top of someone else’s head in addition to his face, so the bottom of his face looks like it has lots of random hair/ spots all over it. :lmao: This cracked me up, and I spent our whole ride back to earth trying to contain my laughter enough to capture a photo of this creepy, creepy image.

We wanted to play a bit in the Spaceship Earth exit area since the games look pretty cool and we’ve never played them before, but it was crowded and there were no open games, so we made our way out and over to Mouse Gear to pick up some souvenirs before heading out of the park.

On our way out of Epcot, Kevin called the lost and found at MGM, and it turned out they had Laura’s phone! Hooray! :yay: They said it would still be there in a couple of hours, so we decided to go back to the Beach Club first and get ready for the evening before heading over to pick it up.

Never ones to resist food, we stopped in the lounge and picked up some appetizers before heading to our room. We sat out on our balcony and enjoyed our food and the absolutely gorgeous weather. :cloud9:

We changed from our flip-flops into sneakers and put on long-sleeved shirts to brave the night weather before heading out to the boat dock.

We waited just a few minutes for an MGM-bound Friendship to arrive. Unfortunately, this ship moved slower than we thought possible, and it took us almost 45 minutes to get to MGM! It should take about 15 minutes. By the time we arrived, I had to use the ladies room very badly, so I ran to our right after entering the park while Laura and Kevin went into guest services to collect Laura’s phone. They said it was a bizarre experience, and it seemed like the CMs did not want to give Laura her phone, despite her describing it and them having said on the phone earlier that we could pick it up there. :confused3 Despite the strange experience, Laura was able to get her phone and we ran out to the bus area to catch a bus to the Magic Kingdom – this was one of the only nights of our trip that Spectro was scheduled for, so we really wanted to go. We waited in the TTC bus line for about 10 minutes. When a bus was finally approaching, we realized there would be no point in trying to make it to the MK for Spectro – it was about 10 minutes until Spectro’s scheduled start time, so with a 15-minute bus ride and then 10 minutes to get from the TTC to the MK (best case scenario), then security and entering the park, we knew we wouldn't catch Spectro even if we ran to the end of Frontierland. We decided it wasn’t worth it to travel to the MK when the park would be open for less than an hour after we arrived, so we left the bus line and reentered MGM.

We headed back to the Tower, which luckily had no wait, and were soon entering our elevator.

Laura and Kevin ducked in the picture, and my job was to look confused about what was going on (since I refused to go along with the ducking plan). Since they were ducked down, Laura and Kevy had no idea when the picture was taken, so they kept attempting to pop up and I had to hit them to get back down because the pic had not yet been taken. They said not knowing when we were dropping made for a much better, more exciting ride. I was just fine with the regular ride! When taking this redneck photo of our ride pic, we heard all of the other riders in our car ask what in the world was going on in the front right of the car. :rotfl: If our goal was to perplex, we had definitely succeeded. :thumbsup2

With no real plan in mind, we wandered around enjoying the lovely night, and found ourselves back in the Star Tours area. We talked about whether we wanted to ride Star Tours or the Muppets, but I said I’d prefer to just watch Michael Scott. Laura and Kevy agreed, so we headed out of MGM and Friendshipped it back to the Beach Club.

We of course stopped in the lounge to enjoy some desserts.

Back in our room, we watched some Bachelor wedding (well, Kevy watched most of it while Laura and I saw bits between showers and doing our hair) and some Office on DVD – love that CL rooms have DVD players in them! Once again, we called it an early night.

Up next: we venture outside of the Disney gates!

Kevy and I wanted to straight up not be in that Tower photo! Next time we will have to duck down a bit lower. The experience of looking downward while shooting up into the air/plummeting really is sublime.:thumbsup2

I followed your tweets during your trip and I'm very excited to follow along with your trip reports so far sounds like you had an excellent trip. Can't wait to hear more and see more pics

Wow, I can't believe how much of the flowers really bloomed one week after I was at Epcot. Plus they had a few topiatries covered up because of the cold weather. It was more rainy than cold, 50 the day I went to Epcot.

I also stayed at the BC.
We came for the weekend after my dh convention.
I checked in with a newbie that has never been to WDW.
I took her on a tour of various resorts, so she could see a few,
so they could decide where they wanted to stay.
Her dh was at the convention and they will be going to WDW in Oct.

When I checked in the CM told me I had an upgrade.
The other wife was really excited for me.
When she told me the room number,
I really didn't mean to frown, and the wife asked me what was wrong.
I told her nothing, I couldn't wait to see the room.
When she said room 2555, I knew it wasn't floor 5.:rotfl:
How terrible of me.

Enjoying your TR, sure glad it warmed up a week later.

Yay for successfully recovered cell phones!

I would never stop eating if that food was at my disposal every time I walked to and from my room!

Is it me? This is the second TR I have been reading where I can't see any pics :( Anyone else see them?

I'm not sure how, but you will have to duck down much more intensely in order to be unseen next time!

Thanks - glad to have you here! :goodvibes

:rotfl: That's great about frowning at the room number! I would have done the same thing! Even though any upgrade is nice. :goodvibes How sad that it was so cold the week you were there! I was worrying over what to pack looking at the weather forecasts that week, and am certainly glad it warmed up too!

We basically didn't stop eating! Thanks again for alerting me to my posting mistake last night! :rotfl:

Boo! I wonder what's happened? :confused3 All the pictures looked fine last night, but now my most recent pictures are all missing! I will definitely look into this when I get home later and re-upload the pics if I need to.

Photobucket only allows "so much" bandwidth, once you use up more than your "alotment" the photos are no longer displayed.
You can either upgrade to "pro" (I think that is what it is called) and pay for photobucket or
wait it out - photobucket resets after a certain amount of time!

Oh, and by the way ........ I just LOVE your trip report! :thumbsup2

Thanks! :goodvibes I think I'll bite the bullet and pay Photobucket - can't let this TR waste away!

:yay: photos are back.

Great update, love the ToT pic

Am glad that Laura got her phone back, but how weird that you get a call to come and collect it and then they don't want to give it to you :confused3

Yay the photos are back! loved the update... DHS at night is such a fun park... especially ToT!!

Can't believe that Friendship took soo long to get to the park!! We hardly use the boats when I've stayed at YC & BWV... sometimes it seemed quicker to walk there lol :confused3

Looking forward to more!

Emma princess: xx

Great update! Seeing all of the food from the lounge is making me realize that I should never stay concierge. I would get so fat with all of that food just sitting there all the time. :rotfl:

Too bad you didn't make it over to MK for Spectro!

I think if I had been in that car riding ToT with you guys, I would have thought they were ducking down because they were getting sick (if you know what I mean) It probably would have weirded me out too not knowing what they were trying to do (and I still don't know) :lmao: Sounds at least you guys were having fun.
